Join us on Wednesday, 4/11 for our April LCA meeting. Lateefah Simon, BART District 7 Director, will discuss topics including updates at the MacArthur station and a proposal for a community garden at the BART-owned lot at 40th and MLK, including how neighbors and non-profit partners can get involved. We will also discuss plans for upcoming Earth Day activities and Paint the Town street murals.
Come out and meet the new board (and returning members) and share your ideas and priorities for the neighborhood. That's right we'll be giving a status update on current projects and committees, sharing ways you can get involved, and listening for new ideas!
This meeting will also include our annual reporting and a vote on revision of the bylaws.
President, Longfellow Community Association

Did you know that Eli's has blues every Monday night? Let's get together for another LCA Social Hour and support a local watering hole and listen to some great blues. Come out and have a drink, shake your groove thing or maybe just grab a bite to eat! There is a $5.00 cover starting at 7:00.
For the January Longfellow Community Association General Meeting, we will be hosting representatives from Urban Planning Partners, ARUP, and BART to hear about conceptual lighting design for the 40th Street underpass near Bart. Our guests are looking to gather input from the community and help to select the preferred conceptual design.
They want to improve both the perception of and actual personal security for people walking through and waiting for shuttles and buses in the underpass. In addition to creating a sense of place that better connects the east and west side of the neighborhood.
Howdy Longellow residents and neighbors!
As many of you may be aware, City Council has approved an ordinance that will allow Oakland to temporarily house some of the city's 2,761 homeless people in prefab Tuff Sheds, moving them out of homeless encampments to a designated site in the city.

For the November Longfellow Community Association General Meeting, we'll be hosting District 1 Councilman Dan Kalb and City Administration and they want the input of the neighborhood - be you a resident, business, or school.
We're looking forward to seeing each and every one of you and hearing your input!
