Thanks to all the hard work from our contributors, we are pleased to
announce that Lubuntu 16.04 LTS has been released! With the codename
Xenial Xerus, Lubuntu 16.04 LTS is the 10th release of Lubuntu, and
the second long term support release. Lubuntu 16.04 LTS will be
supported until April 2019, with three years of support.
Hi,
there is currently a re-build of all the images for lubuntu[1]. We have been told that there will the will be at least one more re-build. A new kernel is coming and other fixes.
Again, those who can test PPC are really needed for us to have this variant out as an LTS.
...So, for those who can test, please do..
Many thanks,
Phill.

The Release Candidate is out. There will be re-spins for some major Ubiquity issues. The alternate images should be okay - but they will not be CD sized. (I have a way around that). What is needed is PPC testers. So, please do get involved... The clock is ticking!!!

An update.. The Release Candidate is due out later today (Friday) or during tomorrow (Saturday). There are some last minute bugs being fixed and incorporated. The release team have, correctly, taken the decision to delay the release rather than release and then have to release a replacement within a couple of days. On the plus side, this should mean our Alternate image will come back in at CD size, although at the loss of full language support off the CD (Full language support will still be on the Desktop image, which is DVD size limited).
Not too often our boss asks for a bit of help, but when he does... we do...

Hi,
... I'm preparing a talk about Lubuntu for a conference in France [1], and
I would like to present some examples of big installations of Lubuntu,
like in a class room, a small business, or any installation of this
type.
If you have such examples, please send me some details so I can add
them to my presentation

Thanks in advance

Hi, Beta 2 is out in the wild. Do read the release notes as if you are outside of USA you will need the work around to have your language & keyboard set. Also, it seems the 'cannot find swap area' bug has been re-awoken. As ever, notes and where to get it are at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XenialXerus/Beta2/Lubuntu
