MNEA-Retired delegates are in Boston for the NEA Representative Assembly (RA) meetings. The RA is the highest decision-making body of the NEA, and throughout the 4-day meetings, delegates will elect officers, determine the Legislative Platform and Resolutions. Delegates will be updated on the work that NEA is doing to protect and defend public education in order to make our public schools a great place for EVERY child to learn and a place where educational employees are safe and respected. Delegates are up early every morning for a 7:00 a.m. caucus meeting, and sometimes work into the evening. NEA President Lily Eskelsen-Garcia visited the morning caucus meeting, and MNEA-Retired delegates delight at seeing past president Reg Weaver on the floor of the RA. It's not all work, however! Time is taken out to honor social justice warriors and those who have worked tirelessly to make our public schools safe places for students and education employees.
