We want to thank our dear friend and hermano Jonathan Gramling for covering MadiSalsa since its very beginnings and for also covering our final performance at Dane Dances on August 12, 2016. This is the Capitol City Hues centerspread that appeared on the September 1, 2016 edition.
We would like to share an article published in MADISON365 written by our friend A. David Dahmer, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, on the occasion of our farewell concert at Dane Dances on August 12, 2016.
Whereas, MadiSalsa has increased our citizenry’s appreciation of the full diversity and complexity of musical expression, contributing to the cultural fabric and to the musical and artistic scene in Madison......
MadiSalsa’s 20 yr Anniversary and Salsa Appreciation Day
Presented by Paul Soglin, Mayor, City of Madison, Wisconsin
at Centro Hispano’s An...nual Banquet
October 19, 2012
Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center
I had to share this posting from a friend who enjoyed his fair share of performances by MADISALSA while attending UW-Madison in the early 2Ks
"To me, Madisalsa represents something much larger than a band. For transplants to Madison which most of us are you represented me and my fellow Latinos every time you performed. I hope you never felt a burden carrying us with you on stage but in your performances I felt connected to the community. When I saw Madisalsa perform, somethin...g with the looks and sounds of home, it brought a momentary sense of comfort and confidence. At times I've walked through this life feeling out of place, different, maybe not enough but there was Madisalsa tocando música. More importantly there was Madison, the campus and the city dancing along. Your presence bridged gaps, provided an opportunity for social change and saw a ton of kids grow up to do great things. José you have influenced many young lives, mine for sure. Madisalsa was a constant, like a beat always present keeping time. The best part is I'm sure you had a ton of fun, we did too. The future is still bright but a beacon of hope has been extinguished. I wish you the best in future endeavors. Keep inspiring people."

ONE LAST NOTE – MADISALSA in DANE DANCES
Dear friends of MadiSalsa,
After 24 years of entertaining and sharing the wonders of Latin music all over the state of Wisconsin, Friday, August 12 will be our very last day performing as the Salsa/Latin Jazz/Afro Caribbean music ensemble known to all of you as MADISALSA....
It has been a memorable journey and one we will cherish the rest of our lives. To all of you, our loyal, devoted and faithful followers, friends, hermanos y hermanas, we want to say MUCHAS GRACIAS for your support, your love, your generosity with your time—especially during our lengthy late night performances—and, of course, for always making us feel special, helping us become one of the most durable and successful Latin bands in Madison, Wisconsin.
24 years here have given all of us many great memories to treasure, and it is you, our followers, that have made these years so enjoyable and very significant. From our humble beginnings performing at the 1992 Isthmus Jazz Festival, to our many shows at the Angelic Brewing Co, Union Terrace, Wingra Park, Orton Park, Cardinal Bar and Monona Terrace in Madison, to Summerfest, Jazz in the Park and River Rhythms in Milwaukee, just to name a few, and two highly acclaimed recordings – Del Caribe al Corazón and Se Permite Bailar, we are very grateful for these invaluable experiences and memories.
We cannot express just how much we will miss everyone, especially our former and current fellow musicians that have shared the stage with us, but we assure all of you that we will keep in touch with you all through other musical collaborations across the state and beyond.
We hope to see you this Friday at DANE DANCES. Come dance with us one last time and have a great time with your family, friends, and community.
