Dungeons of democracy. ( Yes, they indeed exist !!)
We are talking about numerous forms of violence to silence independent journalists and other categories of decent citizens -.bullying, sabotage, persecution, Work Harassment, isolation in the workplace …
Violations of values and principles. That’s the way to do it.
Who would dare to support such an insanity ??? A crime …
A genuinely democratic Nation? Unthinkable.
It’s something to think about …
Resistance is what we do with what's been done to us …
And EDUCATION is our best bet. Autonomous, creative, innovative thinking. Media-critical and self-reflecting citizens.
Dungeons of cynical and hypocritical Democracies, NEVER AGAIN !

Scary morning in the city of Mahnomen! Thankfully there was only property damage; that's why we have insurance, right? But this quick moving, isolated storm should be a reminder to all county residents to review your severe weather plan with your family and neighbors. Have fresh batteries in you flashlights and radios, know where your place of safety is, check on elderly neighbors, and have all your important numbers in one place. And if you aren't already on the Sheriff's Office Code Red emergency call system, please contact us so you can get added.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado at Shooting Star Casino early Monday morning.

Congratulations to Assistant Minnesota Attorney General Eric Shieferdecker on his appointment as Judge in the Ninth District, which included Mahnomen County. The Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Mahnomen County are eternally grateful to Mr. Shieferdecker for his prosecution of the murder of Mahnomen County Deputy Chris Dewey. We look forward to his guidance from the bench.

Gov. Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Eric P. Schieferdecker as district court judge in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District. Schieferdecker will be replacing the Honorable Donald J. Aandal, who resigned earlier this year. The judgeship will be chambered at Warren in Marshall County.

Ladies and Gentleman, start your engines! Just a little humor to highlight the changed speed limit on US Highway 59 through Mahnomen County from 55 to 60 mph. Yesterday, October 21st, the Minnesota DOT began changing speed signs throughout MN on Higways 59, 75, and 7. As of this morning, no signs in Mahnomen County had been changed yet, so we're advising motorists to abide by the posted limit for the saftey of all motorists until the new signs have gone up. Please remember that this new limit is for Highway 59 only, and that highways 113, 200, and all county highways are still 55 mph roads. Safe Travels!

MOORHEAD – Commuters on Highway 75 will soon be able to travel a little bit faster.

Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a drug disposal event at the Sheriff's Office. Turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal on Saturday, October 26 from 10am - 2pm.
