Thanks Makin Pizza!
This year, Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday fall on the same day! For tomorrow, Wednesday Feb 14th we will have a Large Heart Shaped one topping pizza for $10.00 and an XL thin crust cheese pizza for $11.00 , $13 for an XL thick Cheese pizza!
In an attempt to clear up confusion about the posted hours, the dining room closes one hour before the kitchen closes. We accept out of town delivery orders up until 1/2 hour before the kitchen closes. We accept in town and carry out orders up until 10 min before close. Thank you for your understanding.
As 2017 comes to a close and 2018 looms on the horizon, I'd like to thank all the Makin' Pizza customers for their business these last three years! It is hard to believe that on Jan 2, 2018 we will start our 4th year of business! Time really has flown by! The Makin' Pizza family has suffered losses over the past two years of close family members. We miss them dearly.
On a brighter note, the Makin' Pizza team has grown and we have added several awesome new employees! Many of the original Makin' PIzza team that was with us at the beginning on 1-2-2015 are still with us and we are very thankful for that!
I hope everyone has a very Happy and Blessed New Year! We will be open tonight ( New Year's Eve) and tomorrow ( New Year's Day) from 4 to 8!
Makin' 'Pizza will be closed tonight and tomorrow for the Christmas holidays. We will re open on the 26th with regular hours until New years eve. New Year 's eve and New year's day we will be open 4 to 8.
Makin' Pizza will officially turn 3 on Jan 2, 2018! It is hard to believe it has been three years already! A lot has happened in these 3 years but I am still happy I decided to purchase Mama B's and turn it into Makin' PIzza! A big Thank you to my awesome team of employees who have all worked very hard to make Makin' Pizza what it is today! And a big thank you to the Foran family for establishing Mama B's ( and Charlie's Pizza before that) and developing the wonderful recipes that we still use today! I am grateful for the customers support!
I have some exciting news to share! It is THyme for a Change at Petals & Porch Posts! After losing my Mom to cancer this summer, I began to seriously reflect ...on what I wanted to do with my life. After much thought, I decided it was thyme to step away from the flower business and get back to what I had originally wanted my business to be years ago when I first started an herb based craft business. My dream has always been to have a tea room where I would serve flourless chocolate cake and flavored ice tea. each table would be decorated with a scented geranium!
While my new endeavor won't feature flourless chocolate cake or scented geraniums, there is a possibility for the flavored teas! When the opportunity to purchase Mama B's became available, I decided that it was indeed Thyme to make that change. Therefore, effective 12-31-14, Petals & Porch Posts will no longer be in the fresh flower business. Petals & Porch Post will become Petals & Porch Post Petite ! Petals & Porch Posts Petite will offer the following: seasonal cemetary silks, custom silks, cards, candles, wreaths and a limited amount of gift items. I will also participate in a limited number of antique shows and special events (herb day, etc). Petals & Porch Posts Petite will be located inside Makin' Pizza at 100 E Wing Bement (or the corner of Macon and Wing).
Mama B's will become Makin' Pizza and will basically continue to operate as it currently does with a few small tweaks. My family and I are very excited about these changes!
I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years while I have owned Petals & Porch Posts. I hope you will continue to support me in my new endeavor by patronizing Makin' Pizza if you live in the area or by thinking or saying positive things about my choices!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Until I actually bought makin pizza and began working in the kitchen, I didn't understand why sometimes when I would call mama b's to order food while I was working late at petals & porch posts the wait would be 45 min for what seemed to me a simple small pizza. Now that I am on the other side of the counter, I understand better. Every pizza is hand crafted. The dough is rolled out for each pizza (unless it is gluten free). We have three ovens but on a busy night, they ...can quickly fill up with pizzas, subs, pastas, bread sticks. Certain pizzas take longer to cook.
We were extremely busy last night. We had some long wait times. I apologize for that. There isn't a simple solution. If we changed the menu and only offered one thickness of crust, people would be disappointed. If we closed the dining room, people would be disappointed, if we adjusted the delivery area, people would be disappointed.
I know several customers were disappointed last night at the long wait times. The team was working as fast as they could.
We at makin pizza appreciate everyone's business and we strive to make everyone happy.
My grandpa owned a diner in the late 50's and early 60's. According to family legend he used to say "people will eat breakfast any time in the morning but they all want dinner (lunch) at noon!". In the pizza world, that translates to "everyone wants pizza from 6 to 7"!
The staff at makin pizza wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
Tara 's daughter , Haley is part of this team ! We are so proud of all of them!
