Very unfriendly staff in the wine section. She rolled her eyes when I left driver license in the car. Once I came back she started to slam my fruit on the scale ...I guess she was still angry at me.

This store is a dump. I felt dirty shopping there and I was concerned about sanitation. Half the shelves were bare. I won't go there again. I'll stick with Aldi and Target both right around the corner.... And both have lower prices. See More

I no longer get my prescriptions filled there too long of a wait. Most produce I buy at Aldis I shop at Market District a couple times a week
Staff is very polite & professional meat & seafood I buy ...only there & all other items too. I use the coupons that come in the mail & my food perks since I don't drive. See More

We shop at his store every week from approximately 8:45-9:15 or so on Saturday mornings.

The interior layout of the store is very cramped, which makes it difficult to navigate when it's crowded, and... clientele frequently bump into one another. I appreciate Giant Eagle having the foresight to drill underground for garage parking to minimize the amount of surface parking needed, but I wish they had built this store with a second floor (see the Target down the street to see how shopping cart escalators can make this possible).

I find their sale prices to be great, and I LOVE the eAdvantage program! Non-sale item prices can tend to be above-average compared to competitors like Shop 'n Save or ALDI. Most of the cashiers are miserable here, and the self-checkouts are useless for larger orders, as they get confused when you try to use multiple reusable cloth bags in the bagging area. I do love that they do have one very pleasant bagger with Down's Syndrome. I normally like to pick the checkout where he is working.

The parking lot is easier to navigate than either Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. It is well-sited for transit lines, too. I've often found items I want to be out-of-stock; it is a very busy store (most stores in the East End were under-built for how quickly this part of town has grown), and they should order stock appropriately.

If the interior layout was less claustrophobic, if the staff wasn't so miserable, and if the non-sale prices were more competitive I'd consider raising this review from 3 to 5 stars.

It's good. Not every Giant Eagle has what I want, but each store has to cater to the neighborhood that they are in.

Shadyside Market District has been my favorite store since it opened and I'm really disappointed to see how it's gone downhill lately. The prepared foods section is nothing much except the common gooe...y mayo-based salads, potato salad, macaroni salad, etc. and chicken. That used to be one of the main reasons why I shopped there. I could get a selection of good food like the orzo salad, sliced turkey, potato pancakes, etc. and now it hardly qualifies as a Market District at all. Why would you so drastically reduce that department? I have to go to Waterworks now to get prepared food, and that's not very convenient. See More

Need to make more friendly to peddle and bike customers . Go look at Whole Foods and compare the experience. It doesn't cost more to do it right. Your employees use the so called cafe as a smoking room

If I could give it a -5 star rating I would! The pharmacy is run by incompetent pharmacist & pharmacy techs. They dont own up to their own mistakes & blame it on the patients or their physician. I've... been a customer of the Shadyside Giant Eagle for over 17 years! Such a disappointment that I now have to go to an inconvenient location due to poor customer service & a mix up in prescription meds that determine whether I live or die. See More

Overpriced. I think that says enough. Aldi has lower-cost food almost half as much abd rhe little gimmicks that Giant Eagle puts on doesn't even come close to reaching the low cost of Aldi.

I have just shopped at the Shadyside Market District. No Natures Basket bath tissue, no Natures Basket paper towels! No products with recycled content at all. These have been anchor items that made me... shop at your store. Heading over to Whole Foods now. See More

Had a cashier ask me, "How can you afford to buy beer when I see you begging for change everyday?". I don't. I Complained to the store manager, who did nothing...I Complained to headquarters, who did ...nothing. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This place apparently allows their employees to treat the customers with personal insults and disrespect. EVEN IF I WERE A HOMELESS PERSON, NOBODY DESERVES THIS KIND OF TREATMENT! See More

This store carries a variety of merchandise and is organized in a sensible way. The only bad thing is that the aisles are too narrow.
