Meet Anna, a former Next Generation Women Leaders participant and current associate in #Moscow. “I mentioned to a friend that I was bored in my current role, and he challenged me to apply to McKinsey as it could be a great place for my personal growth. I attended a recruitment event as part of the McKinsey Women's initiative and learned about NGWL. This event played out to be a very important step in my McKinsey journey. I met a great mentor, who helped me take my case interv...iew skills to the next level. I was extremely inspired by McKinsey and the women who attended. After three years at the firm, I can't imagine a place that would fit me better. I've become a different person, and I love the new me. I’ve gotten to work in the fields that correspond to my purpose. I have traveled to at least 10 new countries each year. When my colleagues and I visited Argentina and Chile, we tried a new activity every day - ice climbing, hiking in Patagonia, mountain biking, horseback riding, sailing in the Bigle Strait and ice diving. Those were the most amazing two weeks of my entire life. For future candidates, my advice would be to apply to NGWL and be ready to show the best of yourself. McKinsey is a truly diverse firm and there are many ways to fit in."

Meet Ricky, an engagement manager based in our #Minneapolis office and a member of our McKinsey Manbassadors group: "I choose to be a Manbassador to help advance the conversation around gender equality in the workplace. Taking an active role has helped me raise my own awareness and be more cognizant of the challenges and biases that women face so that I can address them in my interactions and raise awareness with others.” #McKManbassadors
“At the Next Generation Women Leaders event, you will meet charismatic female professionals who lead fearlessly and hail from many different backgrounds” says Anna, a former participant and current business analyst in #Milan. “NGWL was an amazing opportunity to brainstorm with people from all over EMEA and pull together ideas to solve problems. This event was a game changer when I applied to be a consultant as it allowed me to start creating my international network.”

Yesterday our six delegates from the NA Operations practice arrived in sunny LA for the 2018 MAKERS conference. Our award recipients donned their game faces and... sat for interviews. Then on to the opening session with a rousing welcome from Dyllan McGee, the founder and executive producer of MAKERS; a star-studded panel moderated by Ava DuVernay; and so much more. The evening concluded with an amazing dinner at The Hollywood Palladium.

Our global managing partner Dominic Barton – pictured here with Roni, a business analyst from our New York Office – is joining Sheryl Sandberg and other business leaders today in committing to #MentorHer. Dominic writes, “Since taking on my role at McKinsey, I have had the chance to work with six outstanding young women who do a one-year rotation on my team. It’s a terrific opportunity for me to learn and benefit from the best and brightest analysts at McKinsey, and I strongly believe that equal opportunity for mentorship is key to developing more women leaders. We can all do more to build a stronger and safer workplace for everyone – and I would encourage other leaders to find those same stars in their own organisations and #MentorHer – leanin.org/mentorher.” #McKWomen #LeanIn #McKManbassadors

We’re so excited to attend this year’s MAKERS Conference and celebrate our award recipients – four leaders within our Operations practice, selected for their un...wavering passion to help our firm, their colleagues and their clients be at their best:

-- Jack – a University of Chicago Booth School of Business alum, partner, and new San Franciscan who loves kiteboarding. He led recruiting for our Operations practice in North America in 2016-17 and helped more than 2x as many women join the practice as in the two years before by setting bold aspirations, personally championing the effort, and engaging senior leaders directly to make it the priority.
-- Jodi – a partner in our #Philadelphia office whose specialty is implementation. She cut her teeth at Strategy& and Lockheed Martin and is an alumna of University of Michigan
-- Patricia – senior expert in DC who co-leads our capital project optimization service line, runs ultras, and regularly indulges her family and friends with her culinary skills

We're hiring! McKinsey Implementation is seeking talented women to join our rapidly growing team in the US and Canada. Bailey, a senior implementation coach based in our New York office, shares "I love connecting all levels of an organization towards common goals. On one of my last engagements, a coaching floor walk with the plant manager ended in a conversation with a front line associate who showed her some unnecessary testing the team performed very regularly. The plant ma...nager was able to help this associate quickly push through a proposal to remove hours of non-value added work from his day.”
Implementation coaches like Bailey provide distinctive, continuous support to ensure clients achieve and sustain the full benefits of our recommended changes and thrive on helping others succeed. They are involved from strategy through execution, ensuring impact at every stage, and work on topics ranging from Marketing & Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing to Organizational Design across more than 20 industries. Candidates in the US and Canada, learn more by joining us for a non-evaluative, interactive webex session on Friday, February 16th. RSVP today: http://bit.ly/2nblyMH

I'm inspired by the people I work with every day, particularly our two interns, Joyeeta and Yashika, who make our workplace more lively with their unbridled enthusiasm, curiosity, and fresh ideas." #McKWomen
