Merchant Voyage will be at The People's Market, this Saturday, May 6th from 10-4 at the Pulliam Building in downtown Loveland. Here are a few of the new goodies... we'll be featuring at the market: Pot Pourris made from natural botanicals, bits of embroidered silk and lace, pieces of carved sandalwood, and spices; collaged spools of recycled silk fibers; bracelets of found objects and curiosities from my "Reliqs" line of jewelry; and all the other usual suspects. Hope to see you there!

Tour De Pants brings together... a community of people that can teach you about historic home preservation and folks that up-cycle old furniture as well as a bike tour of Historic Loveland. FUN and FREE!
I'm posting this for a friend of mine whose circumstances have changed. She needs to find a loving home for her 2 well-loved cats. The first 2 pictures are of "Kitty" and the second 2 are of "Minka." They're both female, have had their shots, and have been well cared for. "Kitty" is about 4 years old and a little aloof but sweet. "Minka" is about 3 and a half and is a snuggle bunny. She would love it if they could stay together! Please private message me if you're interested in providing a home for them or know of someone that could. Thanks!
Did anyone else see the speech Meryl Streep gave at the Golden Globe Awards, the part about the physically handicapped reporter??? The one with hands similar to mine? I couldn't have said it better. If you didn't see it, please watch it when it comes up on Youtube. If you can't watch all of it, please at least watch that part, please. This has been bothering me for what, a year??? Again, I couldn't have said it better. Please, please watch. My hands are very much like his. It...'s something I've always been very very sensitive about. I tried to hide them as long as possible. I never even talked to anyone about it, ever. This is a first for me. And then I finally got over it, because I make beautiful things with my hands. And then this stupid, stupid disgusting "man" brought it all back. This is not a political post, this is a human post. No matter who or what you are, THIS IS NOT OKAY!!!
This is an essay Brittany Caumette, world traveler and author, wrote after a comment I made in response to one of her posts on her Facebook page, Wandering Foo...tsteps. I'm honored that she wrote this and happy that she's able to see things from other's perspectives. If you're interested in seeing the world, devoid of preconceived ideas and prejudices, please follow her on Wandering Footsteps, she and her husband, Bruno, have some amazing journeys and adventures. And, for those of us that can't travel as they do, it's exciting to see the world through Brittany's eyes. And, by the way, she won third place for this essay! (I wasn't in Spain, she was!) Please click on the photo or caption to read her essay.
