This has been a long time coming but I wanted to thank the officer who responded to my car collision back in November 2014. Even though I was at-fault I was beyond relieved to have the police arrive a...nd take control of things. He treated me with respect and compassion throughout the whole process. His demeanor mattered even more-so because this was my first time ever being involved in an at-fault collision. He assured me that while it was my fault (rear-ended someone) it wasn't the end of the world and that the other driver was fine and their vehicle sustained very little damage (the other driver was understandably upset and, as a result, wouldn't talk to me at the scene so I didn't know she was okay until the officer told me). I wish I remembered the name of the officer but I have never forgotten his kindness and his relaxed manner which allowed me to continue with my day after a very jarring experience. See More

Epic PR fail for ticketing people leaving 8 am mass at St. Martha's for slowing down to let people onto Grand River in front of them. Yes, I know Grand River is a state trunk line, but I can that no one has impeded an emergency vehicle. This is the same police department that told me they can't do anything about Cornell Road being completely blocked every single school day by parents waiting to turn in to the school to pick up their kids. Many municipalities have police officers directing traffic when a big church service lets out on a main road, rather than ticketing too-courteous drivers. See More

I hope the officer’s involved in the neglect of 2004 report of sexual assault by Nassar gets charged additionally and fired. How do you call those employees “officer’s of the law”, when those men/wome...n can’t even uphold the law and fight for the very people they claim to swear to protect? But don’t worry, justice will prevail, in the end you’re always caught. Good luck handling future cases and doing your jobs. See More

Meridian police impounded a 72 year old man's car for driving on a plate the SoS canceled without notice. Township police then left the man stranded on the side of the road on a cold December morning.... I'd give 0 stars if I could, for each ounce of humanity shown by these officers. Shame on the Meridian Township Police. See More

2 visits to the station in 3 days - more police interaction than I've ever had! Thanks to the cadets at the desk and Officers Flaga and Hood for their help in sorting out 2 separate issues. Everyone... was helpful and polite, and things were handled much more quickly than I expected. Thanks, Meridian Twp. Police! See More

A gentle reminder that we still have quite a bit of flooding with several road closures still in place. We are also working on several vehicles that are stuck in the water in the area of Grand River and Okemos Rd. MDOT is on scene putting up more barricades to shut down the intersection. As we asked before please do not drive through water over the roadway. It is impossible to know how deep the water is and if there is anything under the surface. Thank you.

This is an updated and more accurate road closure map.

Local traffic may travel down closed roads to reach their destination.

REMEMBER: DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER. You never know how deep it may be or what is underneath the surface.

Grand River Ave is Closed. We still have motorists trying to make it through the Okemos and Grand River Ave intersection. There have been 15 vehicles disabled as a result of driving through this area today. We are fortunate that no one has been injured as a result.

Please Don't.
