We have had numerous call today and recently about scams. If someon...e calls you about social security or the IRS it is a scam. Hang up on them. If someone says your grandson is in jail and needs bail money, hang up on them unless it is actually your grandson talking to you. We recently had someone fall for a $3,000 scam so please talk to your family members young and old about this. If you are not sure just hang up. See more
We are once again asking for assistance from the public in identifyi...ng one or both of the pictured individuals.
I realize the pictures are not the best quality but it's what we have to work with. I am hopeful someone can put the male, female and the vehicle together and know who one or both are.
As always thank you for any assistance you can provide.
If you know who one or both of these individuals are please message us, call Officer Pufall at 715-536-8311, or crimestoppers at 715-536-3726 or you can use their app. See more
Halloween 2020
October 31, 2020 4PM-7PM
There has been informal com...munity discussion of whether Trick or Treating is prohibited by any law or ordinance. The City of Merrill does not possess regulatory authority over Trick or Treating. At best, we try to coordinate times the community can expect this activity to occur. Therefore we are neither encouraging or discouraging the celebration of this occasion or others. This is your responsibility to make an informed decision for yourselves and your families.
Obviously, we have an interest in community safety and we will continue to deliver messages that encourage safe practices, just like in years past. So, IF you participate, please exercise respect for others who are participating and those who are not.
* We encourage you to follow the Lincoln Co Health Dept. and CDC guidance for Halloween activities. https://www.cdc.gov/…/da…/holidays.html…
* Walk with family members and try to avoid walking alone. Preferably, walk with an adult.
* Be visible. Dark clothing during hours of darkness present pedestrian and traffic hazards.
* Carry a light or glow sticks to enhance your visibility
* Avoid loose and thin clothing that can ignite with ground level candles and ignition sources. Flame resistant clothing is preferred.
* Avoid placing ground level candles and ignition sources near the path of pedestrians.
* Stay on sidewalks whenever possible.
* Avoid dark houses.
* Exercise caution when crossing streets. Make sure traffic sees you and you see them.
* Examine all treats prior to eating
* Stick to neighborhoods known to you and your family. Make a plan.
Be safe Merrill See more
