From the US War Dogs Association: "Every handler has that one dog. The one dog that they learned the most from, that they compared every other dog they work with against. That dog for me was Kane (K353). Today Traci and I had to say goodbye to Kane. He had a ruptured spleen, which for a 13 year old pup was not something we could fix. He was a true patriot and my hero. I literally followed him to the ends of the earth and he brought me back in one piece. Please pass the word to anyone else that may have known Kane. Rest easy Huri-Kane."
“I feel like I needed to share my husband's post here. Like any spouse of a handler, I was comforted knowing anytime he left on a TDY or deployment, he was safe because Kane always had his back.”
