For context, I've travelled through Japan many times and eaten a lot of ramen. So I have a pretty good pallet for what's good, and what isn't.
I visited for t...he first time just over a week ago with my girlfriend .
When we arrived we were advised there was a wait, which was fine. We could see they were busy before we entered.
After being seated, we were told to take our time when we had waited long enough to make our minds up for what to order, and again we u der stood they were busy so we didn't mind.
The waitress acknowledg ed that we were ready and was really nice while taking our order. I ordered the Miso Ramen, pot of hot green tea, and chicken karaage, my girlfriend ordered the vegetable udon dish.
It took a little longer than I would have imagined, as by now a lot of customers had left, leaving the place at about 80% capacity. My miso ramen was bland, with too much oil, and no miso flavour. The noodles were the same cheap ramen noodles I used to get from Asian grocers, usually the lower tier noodles, they were over cooked, so far too soft. They had no texture, and were still clumped altogether , making it really hard to eat with easy, and messy trying to seperate which should be done by the chef before cooking, and when adding to the soup. The Char Siu was well cooked, but also lacked flavour. Perhaps a quick once over with a torch to char the edges would add some flavour.
The green tea was weak, and very pale lacking flavour. Unsure if this was a one off. But I would consider reconsider ing your tea to water ratio.
I would like to say I would return, but I can't make any promises. I provided a very similar, quicker critique when leaving as the waitress asked how everything was. She apologised , and was as polite as she could be considerin g the situation. I really didn't feel like paying for what I had tasted, as I couldn't even bring myself to finish any of it, apart from the karaage.
Best of luck. عرض المزيد

Sushi was dry with weak flavours, and with little options for nigiri-sus hi. Aburi was good to see. Ordered a tonkotsu ramen and I've never had such a small serv...ing. Taste was not bad, but not great. For $14.50 I expected better. Decent range of Japanese alcohol at a reasonable price. Overall, not bad, but don't think I'll be coming again. An aside, the Okami menu covers are probably breaking a few copyright laws, so I'd recommend changing those. عرض المزيد

The spicy tonkotsu ramen is just as good as in Japan! We were very impressed. Fresh sushi as well and I like the serving of green tea in a pot. We'll be back!

Tried the vegetarian ramen and some sushi. Sushi was very very average and at night there wasn't a huge variety to choose from. I also found a bug crawling arou...nd under the plastic cover of one of the plates. Ramen was nothing special either and took forever to come out. Best thing about this place is the fact that it's open late but otherwise it's pretty average. عرض المزيد

Had the tonkutsu ramen, and was very happy! Flavour was great, portion size was great and atmosphere was bliss. Definitely coming back to try more off the menu!

Just ate here tonight , hands down worst ramen I've ever hard couldn't even finish it and I usually scoff it down and leave nothing behind. For a start ramen to...ok 30 mins to come out I ordered the Shio ramen with pork. Noodles were like maggi noodles, broth was thin salty water with no real flavour or substance. Pork was tough and salty, eggs (which were extra) over cooked and like sherbert in consistenc y needless to say I didn't finish. My friend got the tonkatsu and he pulled out a huge clump of uncooked noodles. I would tell anyone who loves ramen to stay away as this place isn't up to the same standards as the likes of Taro's or Genkotsu. And to top it all off it's not even cheap. I would give this place no stars if I could, but to write a review you had to give one . عرض المزيد

Tofu ramen was incredibly salty and came without any vegetables . It was just tofu, noddles and broth, a little disappoint ing.

Let’s not lie to each other: there’s never ‘just one plate’ when it comes to our sushi.
Sumo-sized serves from the sushi train? That’s optional. Lunchtime beers? That’s just common sense.
We try to capture raw emotion with every shot … or, if that fails, our very best sashimi.

Our salmon is not frozen, it is delivered fresh to the kitchen and filleted in store! How many bones do you think there is?

A funky bar located in the heart of West End providing quality Sushi and Ramen. Brisbanes first Sushi and Ramen bar!
- Guys your tonkatsu is fantastic. Great broth. Great pork. If it cam...e standard with a soft boiled egg and the egg had a runnier yoke it would be perfect. As it is though it is still amazing. Also your sushi is way up there. Keep it up. So nice to have something in west end that is value but quality. Daniel Alicia Sook get on this place. عرض المزيد
