Hello everyone! Just thought I would say hi and share with you a little bit of what has been going on recently in my life!
A little over two months ago I moved into my new home at the University of Virginia. I left my crown and sash behind but took with me all of the memories and lessons I had learned just as I had anticipated that I would do when reflecting on my experiences as Miss Fluvanna 2012 during the application process this time last year.
I have been absolutely my time here at the University. I have challenged myself with my studies, fostered so many new, fantastic relationships while strengthening old ones, and pushed myself to branch out in order to try new things. Stepping outside of my comfort zone has not always been easy and I have not succeeded in everything that I have attempted to accomplish, but I have taken these seeming "failures" as a way to learn and better myself. It has most certainly been an adjustment but I couldn't be any happier and I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else at this point in my life.
I hope all is well with each of you! I am very excited to be coming back to Fluvanna to vote Tuesday morning and visiting before returning to my studies as I know that many other Fluvanna alumni have returned for this weekend's homecoming activities! Go Flucos and Wahoowa!

Miss Fluvanna 2013, Katelyn Almarode, never ceases to amaze me! We have another Dogwood Queen in the county ladies and gentlemen! Make sure you congratulate Kate on a fantastic week at the Charlottesville Dogwood Festival and support her newest journey! I'm so proud of her! The crown is back where it belongs!

Just spent an amazing afternoon with your Miss Fluvanna 2013, Katelyn Almarode, talking all about her experiences so far and the amazing events she has coming up! I love the family bond that comes along with each reign and the passing of the crown. We are all so fortunate to have someone like Kate to represent Fluvanna County!

I had such a wonderful time as the Mistress of Ceremony this evening for the 2013 Little Miss Fluvanna Pageant! All of the contestants were wonderful! I'd like to give special shout outs to Anne Charlotte Robinson, the best Little Miss Fluvanna 2012 I could have ever asked for, and Katelyn Almarode, Miss Fluvanna 2013 who is just such an amazing person. Also the biggest congratulations goes out to Emmy Graves your new Little Miss Fluvanna 2013!!

Just a reminder to all of the Little Miss contestants and their families, there will be a practice tonight at Central!

Thank you for such an amazing year as your Miss Fluvanna! My story isn't over! Tonight we celebrate the newest addition to the family, Miss Fluvanna 2013, Katelyn Almarode! She is so sweet and will absolutely shine as your county representative throughout her reign. Pictures from the evening as well as a link to my slideshow will be posted later!

Just a reminder that I will be having an open practice at my house at noon for any of the girls who want to practice everything once more before this evening!

R.I.P. Sir Gillian the Leaner of Carnival, the best goldfish that ever swum. It seems somehow fitting that the little fish that came back to the hotel coffee pot from the Dogwood Carnival with me, would go to Fish Heaven the night before I pass my crown on to the next Miss Fluvanna. I love you Gillian and I will always remember you.

Sad that I couldn't make it to the Miss Orange Pageant to see my Dogwood Diva Julia, Miss Orange 2012, during her pageant but had an amazing time with the next six Miss Fluvanna contestants practicing for tomorrow night!
