Great place! Lots of room for events. Very clean, wonderful view of the water and plenty of parking. With it being so easily accessible by interstates and city roads and located downtown with hotel...s, restaurants, and local businesses, the convention center is not only an amazing architectural additional to our beautiful city skyline, but a place to enjoy any local, state, or national event. The place is a dump. It appears the City of Mobile has done zero maintenance on it the structure since it was built except for possible carpet cleaning, and HVAC repairs. The concrete is literally fa...lling off along the waterfront bulkhead, iron railings are bent and rusted, windows are dirty, plantings in planter boxes are overgrown and/ or dead and filled with weeds.

It is a fantastic facility, but you have to keep up with repairs and maintenance. Take note City of Mobile

Every bartender at the Mobile Mystics Ball was using the consumable ice for an ice chest. Sticking beer, wine, and water in the same ice they were using to fill cups. This is completely nasty and a way to help spread the flu. Health Department has been contacted. See More

The facility is fine, but two events were scheduled simultaneously (Mobile Area Chamber and Corps of Engineers). All free parking was reserved for the Corps of Engineers and it was observed that less ...than half of the parking was utilized. Very frustrating. See More

Nice facility but is it necessary to disable all the vending machines so that you can charge $3 instead of $2 for canned soda at concessions? C’mon, man.

More food choices, lower prices. Con staff was friendly but the Center staff all looked tired.

I'm satisfied with the Center. It's very accommodating in most areas. I was attending the Mayor's dinner banquet for the Dollar General Bowl.

It's a great venue but they really, really need to step up the food/beverage service. Even just a cart with waters and soft drinks only would be a vast improvement over having to wait in line forever.

I attended the 41st Annual ICES (International Cake Exploration Society) Convention in August of 2016. I was well please with the proximity of hotel accommodations to the convention center which incl...uded a covered walkway. The center was clean and airy and served our convention perfectly. The kitchen & serving staff had quite a job dealing with our exceptionally large group but did very well. Our foreign members also appeared to be pleased with everything at the center. See More

The service was great but the chicken some if it was red on the inside. Cook or chef needs to do better. But overall the staff was polite and courteous.

The convention center was so cold, you can hang meat in it. But, the worse part, was waiting for the train to move, I sat there blocked in my car for 3 1/2 hours.

Worst venue ever for an event. They had the AC cranked so low grown men were shivering under blankets for 4 hours, and then when we finally left we sat with the hundreds of other people blocked in t...he parking garage for an HOUR because it sits behind where a train loads its cars and too bad if that happens to be when the convention center events let out.

SETC Annual Convention | SETC | SETC - Connecting You to Opportunities in Theatre

All of us at SMG-Mobile were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of one of our most beloved team members, Mr. Bob Brazier, last week. Mr. Brazier served in a variety of positions with SMG-Mobile, and was General Manager of all three of our venues – the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, Mobile Civic Center, and Saenger Theatre – upon his retirement in December of 2016.

When asked to summarize Mr. Brazier in a few words, some of our team members who worked with him responded with the following descriptions: “classy and caring; a true gentleman at all times,” “humble and honorable,” “always fair and very compassionate,” “attentive to others’ needs; a father figure to many; a man of integrity.” He was loved and respected by those who worked with and for him, and his many contributions to our facilities and the City of Mobile will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and especially his wonderful wife, Janice, and his three dear daughters: Terrilyn, Robin and Kristi. Mr. Brazier will always hold a very special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed by everyone at SMG-Mobile.
