Wow! MB4 had so much fun performing at Crane's Mill for a very appreciative audience. We did a retrospective of a cappella music, from caroling to barbershop to standards to doo-wop, plus lots of surprises, like the William Tell Overture and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Some holiday selections as well. Looking forward to performing again at Fellowship Village on Saturday!
Whatever you celebrate, here's wishing all of our Moderately Bright Fans a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, a wonderful holiday season - and a safe and healthy new year! (thanks to Ray Winch for the Video!)
Come on down to the Flanders United Methodist Church for the Christmas Coffeehouse - tonight, starting at 7! We’ll be kicking off the holiday season with a set of favorites sometime after 8.
It was sooooo good to get back together for our usual Thursday rehearsal after we all returned from our respective vacations. Of course Steve was ready with a new challenge: "Just A Gigolo"! Hashed out our parts today, such fun!
Such a fun rehearsal in Steve's new digs! Of course he, the techie genius, has managed to rig the whole place up so every TV and computer screen can show our music, lyrics, set lists, and other pertinent info. We're looking forward to our show on July 4th at Crane's Mill -- a new venue for us!
... from our Spring show at the Sacred Bean ... an appropriate share for Memorial Day weekend. God Bless America
On October 23, 2004, MB4 performed together for the first time in a public setting as special guests at Steve's first piano recital. Yesterday, we performed (quite fittingly) at Steve's "last" piano recital as he's retiring from teaching.
Note from Steve: Thank you to my stage-mates for the privilege of singing with you and for putting a nice close to a terrific recital that was filled with energy, emotion and excitement emanating from my students Aarya, Surya and Dhruva. They really stepped it up and made me proud. I will miss teaching them and wish them well as they move forward and continue to develop their musical skills and piano prowess.
Yet more fun in MB4's busy holiday calendar. After kicking off the season with a set at the Sacred Bean Coffeehouse's Christmas concert, we trekked into NYC and sang "Holly Jolly Christmas" outside the Broadway theater for "In Transit," then yesterday we did a full show at Lester Senior Housing, including all our Jewish repertoire. Our a cappella Havah Nagila is not to be missed! Next up, our holiday show at Sussex County Community College on Saturday.
