A tribute written about Prof. a week after he died in 1957. I can't help but think about how much he and my Dad ended up alike in their desire to help young people. With Dad's service tomorrow, it hits even closer to home.

One of Prof. Rogers teachings said that the problems we face today won't be solved by the current generation, they will have to be solved by the youth of today. He believed this was the very essence of his teachings, that the youth should and will have to be leaders. During the JSA Summit at Montezuma School this year, I challenged the students to think about the biggest problems we face as a community, state, nation, or world. Prof's thoughts were never just about the local ...but more about the global youth. The challenge was to pick 3 issues, that you, the students and youth of our nation, see as our biggest problems right now and come up some really out of the box, real life solutions to these challenges. Think about the issues, work towards a real solution with friends and post the the results back here or send me an message if you aren't comfortable going public with your thoughts just yet!. Don't just tell me the problem, we have plenty of politicians who are good at identifying problems but we need people to solve problems. Good luck and let me know what you come up with! JL
