All roadways in Morgan County have been cleared from fallen trees with the exception of those that still have power lines entangled in them. Morgan County officials have notified all power companies of these isolated incidents. There are approximately 3,600 households without power throughout the county. County offices will resume normal operations at 8:00AM on Wednesday. If you have any storm damage photos please email them to email@example.com and include the location of the photos.
Morgan County officials are requesting a voluntary curfew for all non-essential travel throughout Morgan County beginning Monday, September 11, 2017 at 6:00pm until Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 7:00am. Morgan County will continue to experience significant sustained winds up to 35mph through the early morning hours. Wind gusts are expected to exceed 60mph throughout the evening. Hurricane Irma is a life-threatening weather event. Morgan County currently ha...s approximately 5,000 residents without power with continued outages expected. The county has responded to multiple calls for trees down and power lines in the roadway causing most roadways to be blocked at this time. As night falls an increased danger exists on our roadways as motorists will not be able to see downed trees or power lines. Again, Morgan County officials are requesting a voluntary curfew for all non-essential travel in Morgan County.

**MCSO 2017 Citizens Firearm Class**
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the first Citizen Firearms Class of 2017 on Saturday, March 25, 2...017!
Two sessions will be offered that day with the first commencing at 8:00 a.m. and concluding around noon and the second class will begin at 1:00 p.m. and finish around 5:00 p.m.
These classes will focus on general firearms safety, the Georgia law governing the use of force and proper shooting techniques. The classes will be a combination of lecture and hands-on shooting instruction at the MCSO firearm complex. (Note that under current law, this class is not a requirement to apply for a Georgia Weapons Carry License, although it is highly recommended.)
Attendees must be 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions. The Sheriff's Office will provide ammunition for common caliber handguns, basic safety equipment and targets. This training will cover handguns only. Each class will be limited to 20 students.

ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS OF MORGAN COUNTY! The Madison Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff's Office are collecting items for the tornado victims in south... Georgia. Items will be collected at the police department and sheriff department until February 6th. The requested items are listed on the flyer. The items will then be transported to south Georgia by your local law enforcement and dispatchers. We urge you to please share this post so that it reaches as many people in our community as possible. The Morgan County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for multiple openings in the Roads and Bridges department and Solid Waste department.
Open positions include: Road Maintenance Worker, Heavy Equipment Operator, Mowing Equipment Operator, Crew Supervisor and Packer. Heavy equipment experience and CDL a plus. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license. Salary range from $10.00/hr to $17.00/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.
