I'm really excited for the newest review I received on Amazon.com for my job book. This comes from someone who took the guidance in my book to a whole new level - he used it to create his dream life and job. What he didn't say in the review, but told me directly, is that he moved to the Carribean to work remotely and live in peace with the ocean. How's that for a dream job?!? Now I'm jealous!
Check out the reviews.

What you expect of others is what you expect of yourself.
For better or worse, the standard you set for yourself is the largely the same standard you'll uphold others to. For example, if you expect perfection of yourself, you'll be looking for perfection from others. Or, if you find yourself mistrustful of others, perhaps its because you wouldn't trust yourself - you know what you'd do in their position and therefore don't trust them.
This isn't to say that you should have ...unrealistic expectations of others, but by realizing how most people project their expected behaviors onto others, you can learn how to communicate better. You can also learn how to handle others better, including yourself.
I say you should have the highest quality, most positive standards possible for yourself. In turn, you'll project those positive, high-quality expectations upon others and help them become better people. This is a trait strong leaders possess, and one that they have learned in spite of bad experiences that should have taught them the opposite.
Uphold yourself to your own high standards or you'll be held to the low standards of others.
