- Like many others I was brought here because of headlines about this ...man's violent actions and subsequent suicide. This story was painful because perpetrator of violence also seemed to be a person who experienced great suffering. I hope that at least some people will try to keep the discourse civil in respect for the people who lost this man. I think if there is a lesson to be learned here it is this: basic kindness and empathy might have prevented this man from losing himself so entirely to a very dark, and violent personal reality. Being a victim or being hurt does not excuse his actions in any capacity, but stigmatization and misunderstanding of him as a person incubated a perfect storm and he lashed out. My heart hurts for his victims, for him, and for his loved ones. The bard himself couldn't have a penned a more tragic story. See More
