Everything was wonderful from the live jousting, to the enchanted forest for the kids, to the sing alongs in the tavern! There was so much to see and do, we hardly had time to experience everything. ...And it was reasonably priced, which is more than I can say for other (more commercialized) Medieval/Renaissance festivals, who shall remain nameless. First time we attend your faire, and it was absolutely one of the best times we've had at a faire. All the reenactors were so friendly and personable. The Enchanted Forest was indeed enchanting, the... joust outstanding, food excellent and the Cirque du Sewer a great show. There was nothing about it we didn't like. See More

We showed in the up early after noon, my girlfriend, my 8 yo son and myself, my girlfriend is in a wheelchair due to an injury, there was no handicap parking available as most spots were filled with e...ither staff or motorcycles, then as I'm pushing her wheelchair down the path to the venue we had numerous golf carts drive right by us, asking others (that were clearly just fine walking if they wanted a ride, both to a from the venue while I struggled pushing a wheelchair through gravel, the staff were not friendly in the least and it's all just vendors with a sprinkle of entertainment, was overwhelmingly disappointed and can't say I'd return See More

I am sorely disappointed by how I was treated here at the mutton and mead festival today while I was in a WHEELCHAIR! When arriving to the event, we asked for closer parking due to me having a wheelch...air. The "handicap" parking was full of motorcycles therefore there was no room. While my boyfriend and son wheeled me down the dirt gravel path, multiple golf carts drove by stopping and asking for others if they needed a ride and it was clear these people could clearly walk. Not one staff member asked if I needed help or a golf cart ride etc. I was applauded by their lack of efforts for those disabled or handicap and would never recommend this to another renaissance lover. Disabled or not. See More

I got so much for my money! Cu Dubh was fabulous, but so were most of the acts. I kept stumbling across lovely music as I toured the craftsman and merchant shops. The food was good, the activities ...for kids were good, and it's always nice to find a place to sit and have some mead. Well run, can handle rain or shine, well worth the trip. See More

REMINDER: If you want to vend at Mutton and Mead this year you need to get your application form in by 2/20. The sooner the better. Snowed in today? It's a good day to go to www.muttonandmead.org and fill out your vendor application form and get it in my pile. Contracts will be sent out to accepted parties after Feb 20th. Late applicants will be put on waitlist. Food vendors especially need to get their applications in so once accepted they can get their BOH permitting in order. Hup, Hup... DM

Did you attend Mutton and Mead this past weekend? Thousands of you did!!! And you recycled 10 cubic yards of bottles and cans!! And M&M Removal Service Hauled it all away! Home town proud! Keeping this event green!

The end of our festival was met with such glorious light, liquid sun shining through rain drops! The sounds of Cu Dubh the faces lit with joy, the happiness of a day well spent together in the Shire. We are filled with deep gratitude for all who came together to bring this fanciful Tavern, its Village, and Spirit to life. For the magic each and all brought to the day, we thank our Patrons, Vendors, Volunteers, Educators, Entertainers, Cast, MFRG, and other merry makers. “To the hush of the hall, we all smile and call, goodnight to the Mutton and Mead!” HUZZAH!!!

"At the Mutton and Mead" (lyrics in photo) a song we traditionally end the festival with. Music by Paul Harrington; Lyrics by Timothy Gilkes.
