Thanks to all who made this year's Memorial Day parade & service the largest and most-attended ever! Thank you for joining us in offering tribute to those who lost their lives in our nation's military, the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Despite the chance of rain on Memorial Day morning, Wenonah's Memorial Day Parade & service at Wenonah Cemetery will go on as scheduled. This tribute to those who died in our nation's military is too important to cancel because of rain. Only lightening or gale-force winds will keep us from completing our parade walk from Wenonah to the cemetery for the memorial service. If those conditions occur, a message will be posted on this site no later than 8:00 am Monday morning. Otherwise, please bring your umbrellas and join us for the real reason for Memorial Day. Thank you.
Notice the Stars & Stripes lining Mantua Ave in Wenonah? A small reminder of the significance of Memorial Day from your Wenonah Post of the American Legion. If you can't make the Memorial Day Parade & Service with us in Wenonah at 8:45 am on Memorial Day, please pause wherever you are and pay tribute to those who lost their lives serving in our nation's military -- the real reason for Memorial Day. Thank you!
Thanks to all who stopped by the Post 192 yard sale on Saturday to enjoy our free coffee and pastries, as well as do a little shopping, sharing conversation, and for your donations!
GOT JUNK? Er, uh, we mean would you like to clear your house of items to donate to the Wenonah Post of the American Legion at the borough-wide yard sale on Saturday, April 29th? If so, drop them off that morning at our tables under our red canopy set up in front of the Wenonah Train Station. We'll begin setting up at 7:00 am.
Even if you don't have donations, stop by to chat and enjoy free coffee and pastries. There, you'll also find smiles and lively conversation and perhaps a bargain or two!
Mark your calendars to recognize the real reason for Memorial Day. Join your friends, neighbors, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies, Clearview Marching Band, Mayor & Borough Council, and veterans in paying tribute to those who gave their lives for our country by walking or riding your bike in the parade and attending a short memorial at the Wenonah Cemetery. Parade begins at intersection of Mantua & Marion Aves in Wenonah. Church bells ring at 8:40 am and the parade begins at 8:45 am.
Thanks for the pics. Charles Trocolli!
