Hello Everyone! The NKHR Rescue Fund would like to extend the warmest of thank you's to everyone who donated to help us raise enough funds to rescue 1 refugee!... The total amount raised from the event was 1,067,000 won and $1,112.00 USD through our Global Giving page.

북한인권시민연합은 3월 2일 목요일 오후 6시부터 ‘春革(춘혁). 靑 春革 命(청 춘혁 명). SPRING REVOLUTION’이라는 주제로 개최되는 탈북 청년예술가 강춘혁 씨의 개인전시회에 예술을 사랑하는 모든 분들을 초대합니다.
...서울 대학로 갤러리 이앙에서 개최될 강춘혁 씨의 전시회에서는 북한 체제에 대한 비판을 풍자적 요소를 통해 담아낸 회화작품들과 팝아트 뮤직비디오 등이 전시될 예정입니다. 이를 통해 비참한 북한의 실상을 고발함과 동시에 희망의 메세지를 전달하고자 하는 작가의 의도가 담겨있습니다. 전시회를 앞두고 강춘혁 씨는 "남북 모두가 같은 희망과 용기를 가질 때 마침내 통일이 이루어 질 수 있다고 믿는다" 라고 이번 전시회의 목적을 밝혔습니다.
이번 전시회는 3월 1일부터 6일까지 대학로 갤러리 이앙에서 개최될 예정이며 기타정보 및 문의를 위해서는 갤러리 이앙의 홈페이지 (http://www.galleryiang.com/main/main.php)를 방문해주시기 바랍니다.
We are happy to invite all art-lovers to join us on Thursday, March 2 at 6 pm for the opening celebration for rapper and visual artist Chunhyok Kang's solo exhibition "Spring Revolution.”
To be held at Gallery Iang in Jongno, "Spring Revolution" draws a dark, satirical light on the reality of life in North Korea. The paintings and music videos on display strike a balance of social critique with a note of optimism, as Chunhyok writes, "I believe that reunification is possible when we have the same hopes, show the same courage."
"Spring Revolution" will be on display from March 1-6.

All of us at the NKHR Rescue Fund are still beaming about the event Saturday. Every Falling Star author Sungju Lee's presentation was engaging, moving, and nothing short of inspiring. What an honor to meet him and hear his message of hope. Thank you, Sungju!
If you were unable to make it to the event, you can still buy his book online or at What the Book?, our gracious hosts. We are so grateful to the staff at What the Book who truly went above and beyond to make our event a success.
We were also thrilled by the turnout and the generosity of our audience. Even though the event was free, we still raised over 200,000won for North Korean refugee rescues.
Once again, we thank you so much for your support and friendship, and we hope to see you again very soon.
