A note from Ann Arbor Sewing Center.... Parking Lot Update

The excavators and dump trucks have arrived to start our new parking lot!! We are very excited to get this started. Parking will be an issue for the next 2 weeks or so.

Limited parking around the store is available today. The handicap parking up front is open but only a few spots in the back. Eventually, the entire back will be closed for a bit. We are not really sure when this will happen. It depends on the we...ather and inspections along the way. It may be as early as tomorrow that the back parking lot is completely closed.

If you can carpool to the store, that may be helpful.

The Covenant Community Church, 500 feet east of us, has graciously offered to let us use their parking lot during the week (this is right next to the Christian Montessori School). There is a nice sidewalk to get our store.

During the weekend, you may park at the Christian Montessori School next door.

We will try to keep you posted with any updates. I enclosed a picture of what the new lot will look like! Please call the store if you have any questions.

Thank you! Kris and Doni

I’m finishing up come quilts I’ve had in house for a while. This is Martha’s Petals quilt. Martha pieced this at the 2016 Quilt Retreat with Great Lakes Heritage Quilters.
This is Connie’s Triangles theme baby quilt. The back is an ABC flannel. The quilting is Geometric B2B, pale yellow thread & Quilters Dream batting. Another cute quilt!

Some quilts that were part of the guild spools challenge...

The Great Lakes Heritage Quilters held their last meeting and potluck dinner last Thursday. This years Challenge was to make a quilt using Spools.

I was just talking with someone about all the excess Aunt Gracie fabric I have. Who was that??

✖️Not all #babyquilts have to be pastel pinks and blues! ✖️ Did you know we carry #AuntGrace #1930s prints? 🐥🐓♥️ 2nd Street co-owner Heather made this super s...weet #babyblanket with a bold black and white striped binding and #ShannonCuddle aka #Minky on the back! 👶🏻 Aunt Grace fabrics also make great #SeekAndFind quilts. Can you find the kitties, cherries, and flowers? 🙈 Pattern used was Sweet & Simple Double Nine Patch

I just finished quilting my own Spools quilt. I have the binding to turn and then will get some photos.

This pattern is one I'm currently working on as a BOM. It's so much fun and she writes great instructions

I will no longer be quilting Minky, cuddle, or stretchy quilt backs.

Thank you for understanding.

Today I'm working on my Round Robin and on Deronda's quilt.

Marlene asked me if I could quilt this Santa banner for her grandson. She had already put the binding on so that presented a challenge but I popped it on today & did some quick quilting to ease in some fullness and finish it.
