Hi I'm congressman John mandy I I represent represent the the greater greater sacramento sacramento area area 200 200 miles miles of of the the sacramento sacramento Valley Valley and and I I must must tell tell you you the the affordable affordable care care act act has has been been an an enormous enormous success success in in our our area area we we have have people people that that have have never never been been able able to to get get insurance insurance before before that that son son we're we're able able to to get get insurance insurance and and we we know know for for the the state state of of California California they're almost almost weathers weathers over over five million five million people people that that have been been insured insured as as a result result of of the the affordable affordable care care act act we we talking talking Obama Obama care Kerry it really really works works in in California California and and now now here here in in Washington Washington dc dc they they trying trying to to Strip stripped that out the away way they're they're trying trying to to take take it it away away care care and and they're they're gonna gonna throw throw 15 million 15 million people people off off of of insurance insurance in in two thousand two thousand eighteen eighteen let let me me give give an an example example of of what what this this means means my my wife's wife's hair hair stylist stylist came came to to her her a a year year and and a a half half almost almost two two years years ago ago and and said said oh oh thankfully thankfully thankfully thankfully I I can can finally finally get get insurance insurance I I have have my my own own business business but but I've I've never never been been able able to to earn earn enough enough money money to to get get insurance insurance now now I I came came forward forward it it because because of of the the subsidy subsidy because because of of the the ability ability that that affordable affordable care care act act Obama Obama care care is is giving giving me me just just this this last last month month she she came came back back to to my my wife wife what what am am I I gonna gonna do do the the Republicans Republicans are are killing killing the the affordable affordable care care act act we we were were just just trying trying to to get get pregnant pregnant my my husband husband and and I I are are trying trying to to get get pregnant pregnant and and now now what what are are we we gonna gonna do do we we don't don't know know if if we we can can ever ever have have a a baby baby we we can't can't afford afford it it on on our our own own we we need need to to have have this this program program tell tell your your husband husband tell tell your your husband husband to to save save the the affordable affordable care care act act don't don't let let him them take take it it away away this this is is a a story story that that is is repeated repeated over over and and over over over over again again I I go go to to nursing nursing homes homes in in my my district district and and I I know know that that more more than than 70 70 percent percent of of the the people people in in those those nursing nursing homes homes are are they're they're having having quality quality care care because because of of the the affordable affordable care care acts acts expansion expansion of of the the medicaid medicaid program program we we call call it it medical medical in in California California this this is is critically critically important important we we cannot cannot allow allow the the Republicans Republicans must must not not allow allow the the Republicans Republicans we're we're gonna gonna need need your your help help to to get get out out there there and and contact contact folks folks around around the the United United States States that that you you may may know know who who senators senators are are Republican Republican that that will will come come back back from from the the fourth fourth of of July July resource resource and and take take up up this this issue issue to to kill kill the the affordable affordable care care act act can't can't let let them them do do it it we'll we'll do do our our part part here here in in Washington Washington will will fight fight fiercely fiercely but we're gonna need that public rising up and fighting so would you please do that you can always contact me and I'll do my best to join with you thank you so very much
