We're all about changing the world too! One person at a time. So we had to let you know about this event going down in AZ. If you're in the area definitely stop by and help them do some good!
God loves you and you do amazing, good things.
Baby it's warm outside! But at night in the desert when you don't have a blanket, it can get especially cold! Help make someone's life warmer! While we can't keep them from sticking their toes out from under the blanket, we CAN give them a blanket to stick their toes out from! Join us in making blankets for those in need. No sewing experience required! We'll be making very simple tie-quilt blankets!
You can also bring blankets to donate! Knit, crochet, quilted, tie blanket, s...hopped , whatever your style, feel free to bring those already made (or nearly done) to donate.
This will be a kid friendly fun event. Feel free to bring freinds and snackies. For location and event details please join Nancy's DoGooders Ch 1 (It's free!): https://www.facebook.com/groups/NancysDoGoodersCh1
If you can't attend you can still help out! Please share this event on your pages and with your friends!
Or help out with supplies: please message us how you'd like to help with supplies: fb.me/NancysDoGooders
Thanks! Can't wait to see you there!
We're keeping two footsies warm, one blanket at a time.
If you're in Lehi, UT on Saturday check out this fundraiser yard sale to raise funds for underprivileged kids in competitive soccer.
My brother played competitive soccer but didn't have enough money for good cleats. A family whom my grandparents had helped out bought my brother the cleats of his dreams! It meant so much to him. I know it'll mean the same to these kids!
Thanks for helping!
We all have limited time, money, and energy. That's why we budget our money and manage our time, but often neglect budgeting our energy. As you prioritize your time, be sure you are spending your energy on the things that matter most!
For your Sunday evening, a reminder: Life has so much more meaning when we spend time to give to others, but we can't give of ourselves unless we're taking care of ourselves, especially spiritually. Take some time to pray, meditate, or study holy scripture to prepare your mind and soul for the week of work ahead!
We just created the very first chapter of Nancy's DoGooders in the Salt Lake City Area! It's completely volunteer supported, and if you'd like to join there's no obligation, just loads of fun opportunities to serve and uplift God's children! If you are interested in joining please request addition to the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1650898848455375/
If you're already a member, please let others know and encourage them to apply!
P.S. You don't have to be local to help out! We can use your skills and talents wherever you are!
Want to feel inspired? Check out Dawn's courageous article telling the world of her early life struggles, heartaches, and embarrassment. Her story is inspiring not because she overcame these things, but now she's bravely and lovingly showing the world what can come of helping those in need, and standing firmly on the belief that as true Christians we feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and afflicted.
Inspired yet? Now is the time to act! WILL YOU TAKE ACTION...?
SECRET MISSION TIME!
APRIL MISSION: Reach out to an individual or family in your community in need.
TACTICAL OPTIONS: Bring dinner or meals. Spend time with them. Clean house for them. Offer to help them with their job search. Use the skills you have and the things that bring you joy to uplift their life.
REPORT: Inspire others to serve by reporting your service (Just write, “Mission accomplished! #ndgmission” if it's a clandestine mission.). And remember to use #ndgmission so we can all see all the good we're doing in God's children!
Thanks for all you do! I know Jesus Christ is grateful for the loving service you give God's children!
I'm so grateful for this talk by Bonnie H. Cordon where she shared Amy's story of how serving in the midst of her own battle for survival against cancer saved Amy's life. So THAT IS THE SOLUTION TO OUR HARDEST TRIALS: SERVING OTHERS!! And of course it helps us more than any other thing we could do. Alleviating others suffering in the middle of our own does that, because "When you are in the service of your fellow beings you are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17), and you can't out give the giver, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!
Who will you serve today and alleviate their pains?
DECEMBER MISSION: Give a holiday present for a family or individual in need whether that need is temporal, spiritual, or emotional.
TACTICAL OPTIONS: cleaning supplies, hygiene products, a week’s worth of pantry food, homemade meal, baby products, home made treats, uplifting music or books, cleaning their house, etc.
COMPLETION: Let us know how it went so others can be inspired through your service. Or just “Mission accomplished!” if it's a clandestine mission.
Thanks for all you do! God is grateful to you for your service to his children!
