For those of you wondering about this year's Environmental Photo Contest...
"A new approach to contests
Technology is changing the way we take photos and how we share them with our communities and the world.
To take advantage of social media and exciting new tools like the MyLion app, we are developing contests that are designed for our mobile-friendly, instant-sharing culture to engage even more Lions and Leos around the world. Because of this new direction, LCI will no long...er host the Environmental Photo Contest or other photo contests at this time.
We will be announcing a brand new contest hosted in the MyLion app after June, when the app will be available globally. We will share details with Lions and Leos as soon as the new contest is announced. In the meantime, we invite you to join our global conversation on the LCI Facebook page and share your photos on social media using the hashtag #WeServe.
We look forward to engaging Lions in more innovative ways than ever before."

If you like social media like Facebook and Twitter, you must download MyLion. It’s a social site for Lions. Here’s the Apple link, it’s also available for others, just search MyLion in your App Store- it’s free, of course.
The Nebraska Lions Foundation put the first Mobile Screening Unit in service in 1987. I am proud to have been associated with this service project since its inception.
I’m not advocating opening yourself to scams. I just want to show you ONE that was real.
This a great speech from a very new Lion. You will be glad you listened.
Confessions of a Brand New Lion:
A video Testimony of how I got H.I.G.H. with Lions in Denver at the Emerging Lions Leadership Institute.
Hope, Inspiration, Goa...ls, Humility.
I'm still not actually sure how this moment happened. On the first day of the Institute the Faculty passed around a sign up sheet for people who wanted to volunteer at the Celebration Banquet on Sunday. I signed up my name expecting to roll up my sleeves and be working the event by doing something like helping to move lines along or check to make sure everyone who was eating had their Institute badge on. I figured that since LCI, my district and my club had given me the amazing opportunity of attending the Institute, I should at least be willing to volunteer to give something back when they asked it of me.
The next thing I know, I'm at a meeting to plan the banquet and my amazing and inspiring ELLI classmate Susan Snider is nominating me to be a speaker for our class at the Celebration event.
Sometime between that moment and the second I walked on stage the next day at the event, I decided that I was going to ask a room full of Lions if they wanted to get H.I.G.H. with me.
In retrospect, maybe it wasn't the best idea to walk up on stage to give a speech to 250 people with absolutely no preparation and only an acronym in mind, but I figured when you are willing to speak from the heart and have Hope, Inspiration, Goals, and Humility...what more do you need?
This ELLI experience has been truly awe inspiring. Every single aspect of it was educational. The Faculty provided legendary trainings and guidance. My main instructors Lion Steve Somersett and Lion Jama Wahl were quite literally two of the most engaging, entertaining and talented presenters that I've ever had the privilege of learning from. The curriculum was relevant, insightful and extremely well designed and I would thoroughly recommend the experience to every single Lion on the face of the planet. ELLI provided the type of knowledge that we will all need if we want to be successful in our second century of service.
Above all else though, the most incredible thing about the entire weekend was the ELLI classmates and ALLI attendees I had the honor and privilege of meeting.
I have never met such a thoughtful, creative, dedicated and caring group of people in my entire life.
Each and every single one of them is a shining beacon of hope for not only the future of Lions Clubs International but for the communities that they serve.
It was an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to learn from them and I look forward to having the chance to get to know them all better as we grow together as Lions.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being the wonderful and inspiring people that you are! Your dedication to service, your generosity, your kindness and your ability to make Lionism fun is what makes LCI the greatest service organization in the world.
As I get on the plane to fly back to District 22-D with a head full of knowledge and a heart full of joy, I can't wait to see what the future brings for us all!
Just finished an amazing 4 days "Getting H.I.G.H. In Denver" Instructing ALLI participants that were just awesome. I'm telling you, Lions is in good hands for the next several years.
I stole this from my friend Amber Dubs.
You know why I like sunflowers? They always follow the sun... follow the light. One is bright and cheery, one is rough and ragged but they are both turning towards the light and awaiting the sunrise and brighter day. It's our own attitude and choices that hold us back from something as simple as turning around and looking up. 🌞🙏🏻
Better start packing your bags for Portland. Chris Gentry has just been added as a presenter at USA/Canada. Two Gentry for the same dollar. Can't beat that. 😳 Uber excited. Thanks to those that put their trust in me. I know who you are. First round on me in Portland.

Advanced Lions Leadership Institutes focus on building the skills of Lions leaders to prepare them for leadership responsibilities at zone, region and district levels....
Qualified candidates are Lions that have completed a successful term as club president, but have not yet attained the position of First Vice District Governor.
I highly recommend this institute. Plus, you may get me as one of your instructors (Chris Gentry) 😎
