I support law enforcement 100%. But when you've been asking the publics health for 4 months looking for the same suspects who just last weekend broke into over 60+ vehicles surrounding my area and I c...all you with a matching description and tell you they were just here out front my house, next to my work vehicle, driver had got out his car, and walked around, and left. When I call in to report it 2 mins later, your people should not be quick to say, "well since it's not there right this second you'll have to call us back". He was very quick to get off the phone until I said," Don't you want the license plate number?" Duhhhh hello! After which I've never seen nccpd call me back so quickly , I hadn't even put my phone back on the table before an officer called to investigate! Nor have I seen nccpd arrive within 3 mins from calling exspecially for a non emergency call! Great response time, but made me very suspicious of hmm why they so fast and interested in this suspicious vehicle. It's ashame I had to do my own research to figure out who and for what suspected reason they were here for. Turns out, same people who busted into 60 cars last weekend. So my recommendation if your gonna post on Facebook and ask the public for help, leave more info, leave more details, stop withholding info as I was told I could not be told the interest in looking for these two. There's nothing wrong or illegal for an officer to tell me thanks for calling, there has been many break ins and you might wanna lock your cars tonight, because these two you saw may potentially match the description of another case we are investigation. As for Slippy in the comfy chair trained to answer calls all day, it's now time for you to go back to your training book, refresh, and learn to ask questions. Isn't that what officers do? Youll never catch anyone by just hanging up on people.
I'd also like to say, anytime I have ever called non emergency number every single time your tone is miserable, impolite, rushed, and have left me feeling your not even interested of going to anything. It's like pulling teeth. So if your gonna ask the public to work with you, exspecially while so many are against law enforcement right now. Cheer up, show or at least act greatful, act like your trying to do your job tax payers spend so much money on, and you'll have the publics vote. Keep acting the way that call went and people become inclined to handle things on their own, or just not call in at all because they don't want to go through talking to a miserable sounding, disinterested, quick to make it no big deal rude operator.

At first they sa...y he was shot in the face. This went on for probaby a week. Letting the (MURDER) get away clean free. Then they find out from a supposed survaeillance video. I mean if its on camera they couldnt get the tag or description of car or what?? They Probably did. But the p.o.s is probably across the united states by now With the screw ups. I called the police at 9pm for harassment and threats. I waited for an hour and called again. No one ever came. It's now 2 am. Meanwhile I was still being harassed because the police never showed up, ...leaving them to not contacting the police in the city where she's from. See More

I work and volunteer with 2 fire departments in New Castle County and interact with the officers a lot. They do a great job on scene keeping us safe while we operate on fire, rescue and medical scenes.... It's tough being a cop today and these men and women work hard everyday trying to make the community a better place for all of us. See More

Last time I checked a police officer was supposed to direct traffic and try not to get any one into an accident when directing traffic for a parade. But no they give you an attitude, then they laugh a...t at you as you try to pull into a parking spot and almost get into an accident / Rearended with your 5 year old son into the vehicle. See More

I was just out in front of my house talking to Sagg & Judy when a county officer stops to ask us how we were and if we had any concerns in the area.
He explained he was doing patrols keeping a look o...ut around our neighborhood.
I didn't get the officers name, and I don't know if it's a new plan on NCCPD's side or just him doing a great job.
I wanted to thank him and NCCPD for being proactive.

Why did it take you 7 hours and 3 mins to respond to my call. They didn’t even have the decency to show up, just called! Smh

It is a sad state of affairs when you suggest to people to lock their doors every night, because the police can't keep you safe after 9pm.

A bar employee was convicted just 2 weeks ago of his third DUI and is actively under house arrest. I really want to know how someone who is a proven, repeated danger on the road could possibly be elig...ible to work in an establishment that serves alcohol. Unbelievably irresponsible on both parties and I'm very interested in the legality and (lack of) thought process behind this "work release" as this appears to be counterproductive, dangerous and an absolute liability. Please tell me this is an oversight that is being addressed immediately and not actually the world I live in. See More

Just wondering - yesterday 3/16/17 my son and I were sledding at the Caufield House around 4:15 pm when the Sheriff's helicopter circled several times and landed. When we walked to the front of the ho...use, we saw an emergency truck, an ambulance, and an undercover car down at the bottom of the drive. We than also noticed that there was an abandoned vehicle in the middle of the road at the intersection of Caufiled and Gov Printz. No one said we needed to leave so we kept sledding, but it was pretty alarming! What happened? See More

I wanted to take a moment and give some feedback on a encounter I had with the NCCPD on 6/17 when a neighbor called in a complaint.

I was hosting a High School Graduation Party for my daughter and a...fter the DJ wrapped up and left, the kids had a running foot race contest. It was a bit noisy and it was around 10:45 but there were two boys... running in parallel while we all cheered them on. We held the race on the street near the park as to try and not disturb any neighbors. Apparently one of the neighbors called in and reported about 20-30 kids involved in a fight??? Needless to say, my house was surrounded by at least 10 or 15 responding units including police cars, K9 units and I think we even saw a vehicle marked SWAT. Some of the kids were terrified and jumped in the cars and left and some ran inside my house. A few of the officers walked over and instantly saw it was a graduation party and called the other officers off. They were very nice and even tried to joke with us about coming in the inflatable obstacle course and competing against the kids.
It really meant a lot that they were so reasonable and what could have been a very bad situation was defused and gone instantly. That really goes a long way... especially in front of a group of mostly black teens amidst a world full of controversy with police. This group of officers just demonstrated what "Great Officers" look like! Keep up the good work!

Last night I was in need of some assistance and one of the NCC officers was kind enough to help out without judgement. I forget the officers name but came out of his own pocket to purchase a few items... I desperately needed. It goes to show that when in need, they are there to help whatever the situation is. Blue LIVES matter! Especially this officer who helped a person in need! Thank u for all u do! I pray that u come home safe to ur family every night! See More

I recently had someone ask me " what weapon can I use against cops when my life is being threatened?" And that's a very good question, due to all the videos we see, and the question "who polices the p...olice?" And just for that fact you don't know if the officer is on drugs or anything of that nature, because no one will "throw the book" at the officers, so when a cop is in a power trip, ready to be trigger happy for no reason ,what weapons can I use? And the 5th amendment does state a militia member can act in defence of a citizen regardless if it's a cop or not, so the constitution does say yes you can defend yourself or other citizens, so what weapon can I defend myself with? It's clear as day now not every cop is good, actually the recent report for violent infractions is 51% ,so in actual betting odds, your going to get a trigger happy power tripping police officer, I can about my life, how can I defend myself? And you can't say I cant, when there's a clause in an amendment saying citizens are allowed too, so which weapon is acceptable in self defence of a police offer??? It's clear we put our lives in the polices hands, theres a very good chance I'll die for trusting the officer, I love my life, how can I defend myself?? I DON'T WANT TO DIE FOR A BROKEN TAILLIGHT!!! my mom has called in the past two morning with someone trying to break into our home, instead of sending a cop out to maybe finger print the door that was being pulled on by the person, the cop then a...sks my mom if me or her boyfriend are on drugs. none of us do drugs we work full time jobs and take care of what we need to, and that shouldn't be one of the first questions a cop asks someone. we have received no help from officers and are still scared that this person may come back again because it was the third time this week. new castle county police are the biggest jokes. I am not sure what was actually going on but on the night of Oct 2nd as my husband and I were on our way home we saw an officer standing by his car. What caught our attention was that he was holding rifle. We stopped and asked if everything was ok. He was very kind. He informed us that the county and newark police were on the search for someone with a rifle. I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to all those officers we saw last night up and down Morrows Rd. Thank you for putting yourselves at risk so we aren't. See More
