"Congress must fight the atrocities Trump is committing at the Southern border and throughout this country by cutting funding for the agencies that most drive these abuses--ICE and CBP. Decreasing their funding is the best route to blocking the implementation of Trump’s horrifying anti-immigrant agenda.
We will assemble at the Federal Building at Main and Monroe in Peoria.
We will gather around a symbolic cage to show the stark and abusive conditions in the camps at our sout...hern border and will urge all citizens to put pressure on legislators. Congress must use "the power of the purse" to restrict funding for ICE and CBP and to use its oversight to end abuses that allow funding to be diverted from other programs in order to maintain and expand the camps.
Bring signs. Bring your energy and commitment. This will be a peaceful protest.

It is the view of The Immigration Project that the New Public Charge Rule places undue burden on certain demographics, including but not limited to: children, t...he elderly, and the disabled. That aside, the new rule has new evidence requirements which drastically increase the amount of work, documentation, and time required for each individual case. Ultimately, this law makes it much more difficult for low-income immigrants to become lawful permanent residents by the creation of additional barriers to admissibility.
