After a couple years off… neighborhood cleanup is back! Start gathering your junk! North Tabor and Mt. Tabor Neighborhood Associations are working together again this year to host our joint cleanup event. In addition to being a very convenient way to get rid of your junk, this event is also our major fundraiser. Please tell your neighbors and friends! Anyone can bring stuff to the cleanup.
Saturday. April 28, 2018; 9am-1pm
Mt. Tabor Middle School Parking Lot
(Entrance at SE 5...7th and Oak, just south of Burnside.)
We need volunteers! Sign up to help at the cleanup. We need people to help check people in and to help unload cars. (Contact: Patty, firstname.lastname@example.org.)
WHAT WE CAN AND CAN’T TAKE
We’ll send out more details soon on what we will and won’t be able to take.
WE WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE:
- bulky waste
- yard debris
- We’ll recycle lots of materials, and have a reuse area for treasures that someone might want to rescue from the land fill.
WE WON’T BE ABLE TO TAKE ANY:
(Metro will refuse to accept any drop boxes with these materials in them.)
- construction, remodeling, and demolition materials
- household hazardous waste (paints, solvents, pesticides, etc.).
DROP OFF FEES
$10-$15 average load
$25 large loads
$30 and up for oversize loads
Tires: $5 per tire off the rim; $10 per tire on the rim

Metro donates the cost of dumping the drop boxes at the transfer station.
City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability provides financial and logistical support to participating neighborhood associations.
Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Coalition provides administrative support and technical assistance to the neighborhood associations and cleanup coordinators.

Due to the forecasted weather, tonight's general meeting has been CANCELLED. Updates on rescheduling the speakers, as well as information on the April 28 cleanup, will be posted.
Rep. Alissa Keny-Guyer is holding a constituent coffee tomorrow at North Star Clubhouse, 5600 NE Glisan, 10am-11:30.
Reminder: I will be holding a Constituent Coffee tomorrow, from 10-11:30am, at the North Star Clubhouse to discuss legislative days, my bills for the 2018 session, and whatever is important to you!
Please consider running for the North Tabor Neighborhood Association board. Board elections are tonight, Tuesday, 10/17 at 8pm. You will need to be a member of the association to vote or run for office. Residents, property owners, and business license owners age 18 or older are eligible for membership. Please come prepared to show proof of eligibility in order to vote or run for office.
North Tabor's tree planting day will be on Saturday. February 3 and deadline to sign up for a tree is January 1. Check out the FOT website
