Tuesday Topic Time: You have money for a repave or to lay dirt. Which do you pick and why? (Remember two dirt tracks already in the area along with the Dirt Track in Charlotte along with many series and multi-purpose events cannot be held at dirt track facilities potentiality losing out on revenue).

Wilkes County Wildman himself standing in a track he and his team owned back in the day. 4 wins as a driver and 18 as an owner. #NASCAR

I missed the Tuesday Topic this week so I'm saving it for next week but random Thursday Thought... Las Vegas and Gateway turn their tracks into EDM(Electronic Dance Music) festivals. Vegas for example has up to hundreds of thousands at $425/ticket show up over 3 days and a production budget in the millions. Good idea or not?

Happy Birthday to Terri Parsons who's been a great friend to the speedway for many years.

Tuesday Topic: We asked what series you wanted to see. Provided a two day weekend with late models, K&N, and Trucks. How far would you drive and what would you pay to see a show like that? Note: Nothing is scheduled this is merely an opinion topic only.

Happy Birthday to Wilkes County native and 2017 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Benny Parsons who would have been 75 today #NASCAR

A view of the sun setting behind the track yesterday evening after the quick rolling storm passed.

Today The Wilkes County Wildman himself Junior Johnson turns 85. He won four times as a driver at his hometown track starting twice in 1958 and wouldn't win again until twice in 1965 and for his 50th and final NASCAR career victory on October 3, 1965. As an owner he would win 18 more times making him the king of North Wilkesboro Speedway. #NASCAR

Sorry for the late TUESDAY TOPIC but here goes... Darlington Raceway is "Too Tough to Tame", Bristol Motor Speedway is "The Last Great Colosseum". We've always thought North Wilkesboro Speedway tag line should be "Where It All Began".. Give us your best tag line for NWS... #NASCAR

Article touches on some good starting points. However North Wilkesboro would be a perfect track for trucks based on attendance seen at events over the last few years. Also Southern Mods, Whelen Late Model Series on a limited basis like BGS, and other special racing events.

Also track would need to turn to a multi-purpose facility and not focused primarily on racing 100% of the time in order to survive in these economic times. #NASCAR

As NASCAR fans, we’ll forever hold the candle for abandoned race tracks like Rockingham and Nashville Superspeedway, but we somehow seem to hold a bigger candle for North Wilkesboro Speedway. As race fans, this is the sort of thing that tugs at our heartstrings regarding how the track just sits ther...

Photos were taken in Sept of 2015.... #NASCAR

These are the eerie scenes of an abandoned NASCAR track in Wilksboro, North Carolina which opened in the late 1940s and hosted the popular race events until the middle of the 1990s.

Tuesday Topic: With Wilkes County, North Carolina natives Junior Johnson and Benny Parsons in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Is it time NASCAR recognize Enoch Staley for building North Wilkesboro Speedway as well as helping Bill France Sr. as a founding member of #NASCAR along with building Occoneechee Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, and helping run races on the beaches of Daytona Beach Course and Daytona International Speedway

For those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on this Memorial Day #Respect

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the so...lemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

A. Lincoln ~ Nov. 21, 1864
