DOYLE LAWSON 3 DAY WORKSHOP Want to learn about sound, lighting, production and performance techniques? Doyle Lawson is heading to Northeast State Community College for the Northeast State Community College's Summer Institute for Technology. The Doyle Lawson 3 Day Workshop will take place July 23-25 and it will be held at the Northeast State at Bristol teaching site, 620 State St., in downtown Bristol. The focus of this workshop is on event management and view lighting, sound and recording from the perspectives of technical professionals and the perspective of a Hall of Fame performer. Day one will focus on event lighting, day two on live sound, and day three on recording. The workshop facilitators are professionals who have set-up a broad range of event types and in multiple venues. Each day will have a classroom session in the morning and an application session in the afternoon. As a grand finale, on the third day, students will set-up for a jam session that will feature Doyle Lawson. Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver have recorded almost 40 albums and have received multiple Grammy, Dove, Inspiration Country Music, International Blue Music Association, and Society for the Preservation of Blue Music Award nominations. Doyle Lawson will come by at the end of each day to talk to the participants about different aspects of the lighting, sound, and recording industry.
