Great to see the construction fencing around Moore Sq being activated with creativity and art instead of the regular chain-link! Looking forward to seeing what y’all have up your sleeve!

Liberal agitators......They are helping divide people posting and supporting people who hang massive banners that keep the agitation and pains of slavery in the forefront of our city during very tryin...g times....Wish everyone could move on with their lives and look to the future instead of keeping everyone looking back and staying stick in the mud.. The roof is gone. So are the floors. But the stone walls of Saint Agnes Hospital still stand on the corner of Saint Augustine University's campus. ...... For 65 years, during the time of racial segregation, Saint Agnes served African-American citizens of North Carolina and beyond. ...... Join us this Wednesday from 5-7pm at Block Gallery, Raleigh to celebrate the past and envision the future of this wonderful Raleigh landmark! The work of 31 artists explore the potential use of Saint Agnes, with 30% of exhibition sales benefitting a student designed public artwork acknowledging Saint Agnes Hospital. #envisionsaintagnes
This past Saturday, international artist Olek installed a crocheted mural of North Carolina artist Nina Simone on the Raleigh Convention Center! Over the past few months, over 100 (crocheting!) Raleigh volunteers completed 2' by 2' sections of the final 40' by 20' mural. We are so proud to present this project celebrating an amazing NC - and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominated! - artist. Take a peek behind the scenes of this incredible Love Across the USA project. ...... Thank you to all the incredible volunteers and participants, to OPTIC, Emily Alexander, and LUMP gallery/projects, as well as Artspace, VAE Raleigh, and Top Greene Community Center for hosting workshops. Thanks to Red Heart Yarns for your donation of yarn, Anchorlight, Rebus Works, McConnell Studios, The Raleigh Murals Project, American Underground, Gridworks Durham, Chavis Community Center, and Black Girls In the Arts! ...... #redheartyarns #publicartraleigh #loveacrosstheusa #strongertogether #woman4woman #teamolek
