Friends and Syndicate Owners, today I learned that Always Funny finally crossed the rainbow bridge last week. I thank Kim and her SO for the care all these years, and thank all of you again for combining resources to give this old lady a fantastic final retirement home. We will all be a bit sad knowing she is gone, but forever grateful that she brought a community together and enjoyed peaceful pastures to the end. God speed, Always Funny.
Happy to say that tonight I got word that Always Funny is still alive and kicking! As you can see, Kim sent a new photo as well, and Funny looks great. She is a true happy ending story, living alone with poor care for years before a wonderful group of folks from the Chronicle Of The Horse forums got together to buy her and provide her with a better living situation. By now the money we raised years ago is long gone, so anyone that feels like sending dribble for her contin...ued upkeep please let me know so I can put you in touch with Kim. I understand that her eyesight is gone now but she gets around just fine, with a protective buddy at her side. Funny is a sweet old soul and immediately knew she was "home" when she stepped off the trailer at her forever home. Thanks so much to Kim for providing her an idyllic place to live out her last years. You are a hero!!

Revisiting the "old chestnut mare" 8 months after she got a new home!
Hello everyone! I am so excited to say that I will be popping out to visit Kim and Always Funny this Sunday to get some new pictures and catch up on all her progress. I can't wait to see her and get another chance to visit Kim's lovely farm. I will update everyone that afternoon!! Can't wait~

Hi Fans! There is a new photo in the album from Kim of Funny hanging with the herd at her place now that she has been vetted and had a coggins pulled. Looks like they are doing fabulously well together and even the it is a cell phone picture you can tell she is picking up weight already! She looks great, and a HUGE thank you again to all the people who donated money and all the people who donated time and transportation to this lovely lady. Plus we have a bunch of people who have offered to send blankets, sheets, fly spray/masks, etc. and so many people just jingling for this girl. So amazing what a group of people can do when hearts and minds come together. Please let me know if you cannot see the new picture. Happy Spring!

Alright - the profile picture is now the "Real" Chestnut Mare. She is 29, and her name is "Always Funny." She's in pretty good shape for her age, with good teeth. She was SO happy to have new friends and quivering with excitement. She will have an awesome life in her new home thanks to the kindness of strangers on the internet!!!
