If their customer service had been better I would have given the Old world Inn 4 stars. Unfortunately I booked through AirBNB and my stay was charged twice. They notified me after three calls that my ...charge would be refunded as my original payment had gone through when I was told it hadn't. Whoever manages finances is never readily available, so it was a constant game of phone tag, here I am writing the review two weeks later with no refund or proof it has been submitted. The stay was lovely however this headache from it is simply not worth it. See More

We had the most amazing trip to Napa and the Old World Inn contributed to a wonderful experience. Our room, Sole, is advertised as the smallest of the rooms but it was a perfect size for us. It was cl...ean and comfortable. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious including excellent coffee. The location was ideal with ample parking on the street and in their lot. We were able to walk downtown to dinner every night. They even help me ship my wine home that I accumulated from over 15 wineries all week. We would absolutely stay here again! See More

This was amazing. We stayed in the Starry Night room. Much bigger than we expected from the description. The spa tub out back of the room and the ceiling windows were amazing. All the staff were very... helpful and friendly. We will certainly be staying here again in the future. So many great restaurants and wineries within walking or a short driving distance. This could not have been a better week! See More

This was a beautiful relaxing bed-and-breakfast. Great food great service. We loved the homemade breakfast. I was very unusual and absolutely delicious. We got tickets at the welcome center and were a...ble to go to 12 separate tastings. We learned so much about wine and it was just a fabulous time!!! We are already planning our next trip. See More

Everything was great except for the fact that on my last day someone was too busy cleaning at 630 in the morning and the walls are paper thin. Also, someone shook my door and tried to get in while I trying to fall back asleep. See More

Wow blown away by the incredible value, this place was worth every penny. Very romantic, with all the bells and whistles. Not to mention very warm and accommodating staff nice to see there are still f...olks out there that put a premium on customer service. Loved the morning breakfast, the evening wine tasting, and especially the complimentary wine tasting from Old World Inn to The Hess Co.winery top notch vineyard...Thank u will definitely be back and try a different room... Fantastic hotel in a brilliant location! The owners are a credit to the hotel - so helpful, friendly and welcoming! Wine tasting in the cellar was a treat! Plus all the extras - an extensive DVD colle...ction to watch in your room, books and board games, but the best part?!.... The evening coffee and nibbles near reception! A true treat! See More

I loved the old world charm look and feel. I love how the breakfast was not limiting at all, and very abundant in portion. I cannot wait to go back !

I am unsure if this is simply where the bar is set in Napa seeing as pretty much everywhere is expensive, but the Cabernet House is a sham. I stayed in the private cottage for 2 nights, the last 2 of honeymoon, and was absolutely appalled at nearly every aspect of this place. For starters, the cottage is not anywhere near the prestige that is presented on their website. When you first walk into the living room, you are greeted with the odor of mold. I know mold, I’ve lived in houses with mold, and this was most definitely mold. There were cobwebs EVERYWHERE. The whole place looked like it was put together by a middle-school theatre club. The fireplace barely worked. The decor looked like it was bought from the clearance section of Office Depot. Oh yeah, and if it wasn’t just plainly and carelessly screwed into the wall, it was just stapled. The light switches were dirty. I paid for champagne and a snack plate to be in the room on arrival, and neither were there on our arrival, even though we were charged for them. It had been almost 3 weeks since I stayed there and still no refund for those has been provided.

Speaking of the ceiling fan light, it buzzed when on. Most of the doors could not close properly. The floors were so dirty I could not walk on them barefoot, otherwise they would stick to the tile. The bathroom was horrendously unclean when we arrived. There was a used roll of toilet paper on the counter when we arrived. The curtain that blocked the bedroom from the parking lot was see-through. Not very private for our honeymoon.

If the place wasn’t bad enough, the new manager, Chris, is a piece of work himself. I informed him of every issue I had with the place, and he came to our room to discuss the issues. He informed me the place would be a priority clean for the next day. He also stated he could offer us a 30-50% discount for the issues I noted. I told him “Let’s make it 50%,” he said okay, and we shook hands. As of today I have received a 25% discount, so this is the dominant reason why I am publishing my troubles with this hell hole. Anyway. I informed him of our plans so they could arrange housekeeping, and when we came back (we were out from about 10am to 4pm) the place had not been touched. We went to dinner at 6, got back sometime around 9, and the bugs were swept out of the ceiling fan and new towels were provided, but there were still bugs in the wall art, and the bathroom and floors were still dirty. Chris is also using the past owners names on the satisfaction e-mail that is being sent out, which I’m not sure is totally legal.

I must disclose that I did not venture much in the main part of the inn aside from the check in desk and front living room. I did not partake in any activities or meals provided, I am simply commenting on the private cottage and the crap service of the proprietor. We paid somewhere about $400 a night. Stay here at your own risk.

Had a great time at our New Year's Eve wine reception, blind tasting 4 different sparkling wines and champagnes! It was a "double blind" tasting--neither the pourer nor the guests knew which was which.

We tasted 3 French and one Napa Valley Sparkler. Everyone voted for their one favorite, again, all blind (no one knew what others voted for)...Napa Valley was the overwhelming favorite!

And perhaps the biggest upset...the Veuve Cliquot Brut Yellow Label (the most expensive and... best known Champagne) was the least favorite.

Everyone was surprised at the results. Why not try a double blind tasting of sparkling wines the next time you have friends over? It's a lot of fun!
