We learned tonight that false information about our district related to coronavirus (COVID-19) has been shared on a mobile messaging application. It was reported to us that the false information was shared on Snapchat, including an altered photo of one of our school websites. The message states that OSD schools will be closed next week for sanitation purposes. This is NOT true.
As always, in the event of a school closure or other school schedule change, we will communicate di...rectly to families and staff through our automated communication system. This includes an email, text and RoboCall sent by OSD Communications. We will also post school schedule information as a drop-down alert on our website and post on our official OSD social media platforms. 👈🏼👀 📌#OSDFriends #FalseInfo #CheckOurFeedFirst

Olympia School District is feeling thankful at Olympia School District.
A recent Curriculum-Based Assessment training held at Knox 111 trained teachers on the updated Social Study Standards. These new standards for social studies put an emphasis on teaching students to ask questions and dig deeper, as well as connect events in history. The morning session was taught by former social studies teacher and current teacher-librarian at Marshall Middle School, Cassie White. The afternoon session was taught by Inger Owen, Assistant Director of Teaching ...and Learning. This training encompassed Student Outcome 4: Our students will have the skills, knowledge and courage to identify and confront personal, systematic and societal bias. It also focused on Student Outcome 6: Our students will be critical thinkers who contribute to and collaborate with our local, global and natural world. Thank you to our Teaching and Learning Department for all your hard work, and a shout-out to our teachers who put this into action in the classroom! 👏👨🏫👩🏫 #ThankYou #OurAmazingStaff #OSDStudentOutcomes
