The next Olympic "Peace, Dignity & Respect" events will take place from February 9 - 25, 2018. OPM carries forth the message, "All Life is Sacred."
The inaugural World “Peace, Dignity & Respect” Unity Walk took place on August 8, 2008 (08/08/08) during the opening day of the Olympic Games. The next Olympic "Peace, Dignity & Respect" events will take place from February 9 - 25, 2018.

We are calling the people of all nations to join the World Unity Walk, Run & Ride around the globe on February 10, 2018 (first Saturday ...of all future Olympic Games), and to hold peace & unity events during the entire seventeen days of the Olympic Games. This harmonious unification of intention through our peaceful actions will create an inner feeling of oneness that we all can share.

The World "Peace, Dignity & Respect" Unity Walk, Run & Ride in Las Vegas, along the world-famous Las Vegas Strip (on Saturday, July 25, 2020), will be led by a procession of flags from all nations, including the indigenous nations of the world. We will invite representatives from each nation or tribe to carry their respective flag. For some, their journey will begin several weeks or months prior to the World Unity Walk, Run & Ride. Many will travel to Las Vegas by foot or other means, carrying their flag from across the continent, or from around the world.

Our vision is to have the United Native Nations hold World Summit Talks in Las Vegas in unison with all future Olympic "Peace, Dignity & Respect" events. It is time for all Indigenous Nations to take their rightful place among the nations of the world, and have a cohesive, influential voice in global affairs that indelibly impacts all of us. Their voice, for the most part, has been greatly ignored for far too long. The presence of indigenous elders will inspire our youth by sharing their wisdom so we can walk the true path, and unite past & present generations for the betterment of all, and for generations to come.

Our intention is to have representatives from the Mayors For Peace international coalition meet with members of the United Native Nations Grand Council during the UNN World Summit Talks and Olympic "PDR" events held in Las Vegas. Talks about the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and programs that promote the solidarity of cities toward a peaceful worldwide coexistence will be important topics of discussion. Talks will further international public awareness and demand for the end of nuclear weapons and lasting world peace through the 2020 Vision and other global peace initiatives & activities.

The World Unity Walk, Run & Ride is a conduit for raising awareness to the Olympic Truce, calling for all hostilities to cease during the Olympic Games and beyond, and mobilizing the youth of the world in the cause of peace. The mission of the International Olympic Truce Foundation and International Olympic Truce Centre, which were established in 2000 as a joint initiative of Greece and the International Olympic Committee, is to promote the Olympic Ideals through peace building, friendship, mutual respect, understanding and reconciliation.

The World Unity Walk, Run & Ride is also a beacon shining light on The Peace Alliance, which is dedicated to establishing a U.S. Department of Peace. The Peace Alliance is an alliance of organizers and advocates throughout the United States taking the work of peace building from the margins of society into the centers of national discourse and policy priorities. Their network includes volunteer grassroots teams in cities, towns, colleges and high school campuses across the nation.

During the World Unity Walk, in respect for the crew of Sea Shepherd, in their relentless efforts to protect and defend marine wildlife worldwide, we will carry the flag of the Six Nations Iroquois that is also flown on Sea Shepherd ships. As stated by Captain Paul Watson, "It is the one flag that we are most proud to have been given permission to fly."

In respect for members of the Wodakota Foundation, we will carry a "Honoring Sacred Sites" flag during the World Unity Walk. Beginning in 1996, Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th generation keeper of the sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe for the Lakota, Dakota & Nakota Sioux Nation, along with many friends, traveled the world performing sacred ceremonies on June 21st in establishing World Peace and Prayer Day -- "All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer." The Wodakota Foundaton is also working towards having June 21st recognized by the United Nations as "Honoring Sacred Sites Day," in an effort to protect places that people consider sacred.

Every four years, in addition to our city's participation in the World Unity Walk, Run & Ride we will have a spectacular festival in Las Vegas similar to Woodstock, with the flavor of “Burning Man,” and the energy of a Native American Pow-wow for a celebration of Life, Peace & Music. We will honor all nations and all cultures during the world gathering. We will invite world leaders, spiritual leaders, business leaders, dignitaries, world-class & Olympic athletes, community organizers, humanitarians, conservationists, naturalists, artists, entertainers, musicians, celebrities, and hundreds of thousands of our friends and relatives from all walks of life, from all corners of the globe.

During our celebration in Las Vegas we will also hold health, wellness & fitness conventions, yoga, meditation & holistic retreats, peace & poetry symposiums, human rights & environmental conferences, educational seminars, film & photography festivals, art exhibits, empowerment workshops, benefit concerts, sporting events & tournaments, youth camps, nature immersion programs, multi-cultural circle dances of universal peace, international music & food extravaganzas, and many other activities that create a catalyst for change, foster peace & unity among all nations, while continually reminding us that it all begins from within.

We will conclude the world gathering in Las Vegas with a four-directional sacred walk during the closing ceremony. This will signify that the World Unity Walkers, Long Walkers, Peace Walkers, World Peace Walkers, Sacred Peace Walkers, Footprints For Peace Walkers, Gandhi Peace Walkers, Peace Pilgrim Walkers, Sunshine Peace Walkers, Olympic Peace Walkers, Unity Walkers, Peace & Unity Walkers, Mixed Unity Walkers, Freedom Walkers, Dharma Walkers, Zen Walkers, World Marchers, Peace & Dignity Runners, Spirit Runners, Indigenous Spiritual Runners, World Harmony Runners, Peace Runners, World Peace Runners, World Unity Runners, and many others will be encompassing the globe in our continuing efforts to bring peace & harmony to our planet.

When we come together as ONE, we become stronger with each passing day. Let us walk, run or ride with the same intention for peace no matter where we are at that moment. For 365 days this moving symbol of peace will expand as it reverberates around the globe. Then, every other year, on the first Saturday of all future Olympic Games, our "Peace, Dignity & Respect" Walk, Run & Ride will unite the world through a spectacular demonstration of peace that will rejuvenate our spirit, and strengthen our resolve, as we continue forward.

"We will be known forever by the tracks we leave." ~Dakota

The joining of several organizations and movements for an all-encompassing world unity peace walk, run & ride was borne by friends of Tibet who have a vision of a peaceful existence for all of us. Given the current problems in the world, this event could not have come at a more opportune time. The people of the world need to join together in unity, in peace, without even uttering a word, for our actions will send a message and a shock wave around the world that is loud and clear!

What better time than during the Olympic Games to host such an event. If you look throughout history, the Olympic Games is the single greatest unifier of people worldwide through a celebration of the human spirit on an individual, national & international level. It's during this time that we are more open and receptive to embrace each other on matters of social and environmental concern.

People's Olympic Peace Celebration: Initiating a new tradition, the mission of Olympic Peace is to support the production of peace building events that serves the creation of healthy, sustainable communities in Olympic Host cities. This may include raising awareness and support for critical social issues in a Host City before, during and after the Games.

The Olympic Games is the single greatest sporting event of all time that brings joy & happiness to each of us. We have all experienced this at some point during our life, especially when an athlete brings honor, dignity, respect & hope to their people through their actions in the competition, win or lose.

"Sport has a unique and irreplaceable capacity to unite people, going far beyond ethnic, religious or social differences. I am convinced that sport can be at the long-term service of peace." ~HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco

"Peace is not merely a distant goal we seek; it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.“ ~Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Peace is not the absence of violence. Peace is the manifestation of human compassion." ~His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
