Thank you all for the fantastic evening at Z-inema Berlin this Tuesday. Colorama - A Selection of Animated Shorts was a spectacular celebration of animated shor...ts featuring a great ACT ONE live performance by singer-songwriter Sabine Alexis Fleur Scribner with Thomas Hoppe on bass. Thank you both for the great opening!

Two of the eight films shown were represented by their relative filmmakers, who joined the Q&A after the screening - Thank you very much for attending the screening: Arzu Saglam (animator of One Million Steps - a Tap Dancing Adventure by Eva Maria Stotz) and Jakob Weyde, Jost Althoff, Haider Abid & Philipp Glauner (respectively directors, writer & editor of "Train To Peace").

Big up to all the friends (old & new) attending and to Schmackos Steed & Yuriko Okamura for the continued support.

Stay tuned for more Shorts On Tap screenings at Z-inema Berlin

See you in London on May 24 for Get Funded Or Die Tryin: a selection of Kickstarter-funded shorts.

"One Million Steps" was screened in Burkina Faso - Koudougou Doc. Eva held a master class "Work with your own biography" and was mentoring some of the students films in the "Atelier de métier de cinéma". All in all a very inspiring and fruitful exchange. Thank you AG-dok and Goethe Institut Burkina Faso to support the trip!

Eva Maria Stotz added 6 new photos — with Seenam Kevin Koliko and 10 others.

I've worn the red dust from Burkina Faso off my shoes and want to pass on some of the inspiration I got at the film festival Koudougou Doc.
Bringing back the c...ulture to the place where you are from, is a valuable gift cultural creators can give. I believe, we are stuck way too much in the capital cities, creating and recreating our work in an artistic bubble. Thank you K Michel Zongo, Moumouni Jupiter Sodré and Francois Ouedraogo and the many helpers, who organised the festival in Koudougou, on the market square and the university, close to people and with exchange!
Great to meet and listen to the master class of Femi Odugbemi, film maker and organiser of iREP festival in Lagos, speaking to the african devolopment minded documentary filmmakers. It's those who need to create the counterpart to the "poverty porn" often made by foreign film teams, looking for the "gritty Africa" they their viewers expect. He gave the example of "Makoko" an area in Lagos, where about 25 documentary films from foreign teams have been shot, which didn't change a bit of the poor living conditions of the people. It needs a local filmmaker, who can target that right audience, the local influencers, that can activly do something and change to the better.
It's the documentary filmmakers that can have a huge impact way beyond the carrier as filmmaker. Therefor we need to own the stories. I was honoured to be part of this great group and to exchange with my fellow film makers from Burkina. Looking forward to continue that path together!
And thank you Seidou Samba Toure to bring me to a Dolotière and introduce this amazing local drink to me

ONE MILLION STEPS / Eva STOTZ
Claquette a Taksim
