OrigamiUSA is a great organization that offers great events and many resources for the origami community. While located in the USA, it has world-wide impact thr...ough it's annual convention, which draws origamists from all around the world, and through it's on-line resources, including the store ("The Source") and e-book style publications for members. I would love to go and see how to make some of the models and to sharpen my paper folding skills. But I can't afford to fly to New York to visit your facility.

The Origami Revolution
Engineers are using origami to design drugs, micro-robots, and future space missions. Airing February 15, 2017 at 9 pm on PBS

Visit: http://www.pbs.org/wg…/nova/physics/origami-revolution.html…

...

Program Description
The centuries-old tradition of folding two-dimensional paper into three-dimensional shapes is inspiring a scientific revolution. The rules of folding are at the heart of many natural phenomena, from how leaves blossom to how beetles fly. But now, engineers and designers are applying its principles to reshape the world around us—and even within us, designing new drugs, micro-robots, and future space missions. With this burgeoning field of origami-inspired-design, the question is: can the mathematics of origami be boiled down to one elegant algorithm—a fail-proof guidebook to make any object out of a flat surface, just by folding? And if so, what would that mean for the future of design? Explore the high-tech future of this age-old art as NOVA unfolds “The Origami Revolution.”

This item is marked as clearance as we may run out of stock for extended periods so we will not take backorders. We anticipate keeping it in stock as best we can.

Handmade tissue foil using very thin foil of .0005 inch thickness and produced on a press to minimize wrinkles in the tissue. Sheets have the same color tissue on both sides and each package includes one sheet each of the following colors: black, olive green, raw sienna, cinnamon, and light grey (co...

Origami creatures flock to this garden sculpture show.

"Origami in the Garden" is a traveling exhibit of origami sculptures created by artist Kevin Box. “What inspires me about origami is its simple metaphor for life. We all begin with a blank page, what we choose to do with it is up to us and the possibilities are endless.”
