Today is World Day of Social Justice... Theme: WORKERS ON THE MOVE: THE QUEST FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
In many provinces of Canada - today is a holiday! Let's open our minds to enjoyment...
If we opened our minds to enjoyment, we might find tranquil pleasures spread about us on every side. We might live with the angels that visit us on every sunbeam, and sit with the fairies who wait on every flower.

Are you ready for Lent?
What if this #Lent we didn’t approach the practices of prayer, almsgiving, and fasting with an eye to what we can do to transform ourselves, but rather with an eye to what God wants to do in order to transform us?
We can do better....
This is a candle for Colten Bushie
For his mother and family
For his nation and community
For the justice that was denied
This is a candle against indifference
Against racism in any form
For what is decent, human, compassionate
For what should just be expected
This is a candle for systemic change
For the possibility of right relations
For healing and hope
And for never again
It's almost time for us to begin our Lenten journey...

Thank you to those who joined us at Noor Cultural Centre this Sunday for a remembrance and reflection one year after the Quebec mosque shooting that killed 6, a...nd injured 19.
We were blessed to have a full program, including:
- an excerpt from Dawanet's documentary 'Your Last Walk in the Mosque', which profiles those most intimately affected by the shooting (look out for the full version, which will be available soon online)
- a discussion about the systemic Islamophobia - manifesting at the interpersonal, institutional and state levels - in which this shooting took place
-visits from some of our elected officials, including Premier Kathleen Wynne, MP Yasmin Ratansi, and Councillor Shelley Carroll
We were also glad to have successfully collected to support Br. Aymen Derbali - left paralyzed in the shooting after taking bullets to save others - afford a safe and accessible home for him and his family (to donate to the fund - https://www.launchgood.com/…/united_with_aymen_derbali__tou…)
