and with people in cannonball I when I was down there expected to See in your on both sides and there was something what we really saw on both sides of the cannibal River was fear everyone was afraid and they were afraid of these out of state protestors who are biting conscious Choosing to do direct action meaning direct confrontation with law enforcement direct confrontation with the company and direct confrontation with land owners and in the idea that if they have a direct competition they can gather more video it's a business model protesting This is the new business model protesting is a cheater to pay protestors and capture video footage and put it up on social media to drive donations or if you do enough of that you can get free media on National international process It's a new business model the old days if you are trying to do a protest you'd people take out a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal of the washing post of the New York times now it's cheaper to go this way so this is something that it's not just trump it's And if it's not it's also technology because the go fund me accounts 13 point five million dollars that we know of with through anonymous not as accounts to fund those founders but when we were down talking ranchers and in southern Martin County Hi uh the story there was everyone was arming themselves yes so we can have so that so then you have any there is multiple near incidents where we had citizens who felt there weren't enough law enforcement doing what they have to do to protect Our families are protect themselves that literally have their finger on the trigger and if any of those triggers have been polled that's the spark that creates the ferguson that's the spark that brings even more people in that's the spark that see that potentially could have left This car toyota and so I say we talk about the restraint of of the law enforcement but I would also seriously the restraint of people and living in to County and I'm standing rock the Street the restrained of the the ranchers in who I'm in Warren County who probably had plenty of reason to lose their cool you got people cutting fences and turning people lose raising on your hair feel that you're about ready to harvest to mean there's a hundred reasons hundred hundred instance where this thing could go on a little differently and we Would have a very different outcome so do the evidence that there is fire arms any protest cams well would good videos woman discharging you know three shots one of the shots going through the leg of a um you know one of our Enforcement so I didn't what more evidence that out of me nuts again and said we're you know she fire she missed um you know she missed I think in any other state shots go off by a protester not situation and there's a lot of return Fire there is no return player but you just have been a long course of officers leg was shot no through like there's a family that trash talk I'm here to um the bin I think very uh showed a lot of gratitude of towards towards the state uh Also they had a normal amount of cost Associated with the ways that cost Associated with their own security the cost Associated with equipment that was damage and and so I think it's the dialogue lease from our stand point I feel like that we wanna You know take a look at what our re courses with the federal government because those that will it's generous that a private entity would would offer to pay for it for law enforcement again we're not trying to set any precedence in that way but I think that some of this was caused by Federally their decisions or indecision or federal administrative action from the prior administration making executor borders in direct opposition of the court's unprecedented that they would over rule of court decision with executive order So I think that some of those cost we're driven by the federal government so we're making our appeal to that and it looks like the our congressional delegation at least last week you probably heard through a bill that's winding it's way through there may be an opportunity to jay for us to have access to 50 million dollars of funding we've also filed our emergency decoration with pima so we're trying to go after some theme of money so will you know we'll see where we out we're gonna keep keeping making sure that North dakota taxpayer's don't pay for those tough question for everyone From people is their congressional delegations been telling us that for month their gonna get this reimburse for these law enforcement cost now might be only 15 million has our congressional delegation been effective in negotiating to get this money reimbursed or state well I Think they've been working very hard and I think the given everything that's going on in the budget cycle administration whatever we can get 15 at this go round I don't think that means that anybody is stopping us if we get 15 on this go round in there another budget we could be approaching and then and then in the in the end we're also uh again was a telling everybody savior receives uh because you know we're gonna make a case that were not reimbursed in the attorney general's doing work to say is the last resort would we sue the federal government to get reimbursed for the expenses for them not helping to enforce the laws of our country on federal land
