After a busy weekend of Pinewood Derby and Scout Sunday, yet we still had a Pack Meeting on Monday. We had flag ceremonies, awards, popcorn, mini cup cakes, and an activity/game lead by one of our Webelos. Handed out our BSA Membership Cards and Journey to Excellence Gold/100% Boys Life patches. Next month we will have our Blue and Gold Banquet (rescheduled) and our annual Winter Camp.
After days of cold weather we decided to have an activity night at our January Pack Meeting. We played a table top and balloon version of Ga Ga Ball, practiced water rescue skills in a game of beanbag toss, and had a little one on one hockey. The Scouts where really engaged and had a lot of fun.
We had our Halloween party this week. The Scouts had a great time playing games, eating treats, and showing off their costumes. We gave out 1st and 2nd medals for both pumpkin carving, and pumpkin decorating. We also awarded medals for costumes. Scariest was a clown. Original was a shark survivor. Hero was Master Chief. Cutest was Eevee. Most Colorful was Ash Ketchum. Though I suspect they were all Cub Scouts in disguise. There were some really good treats at the party this year. Have a great Halloween.
Should add we had three Boy Scouts from Troop 66 attend our party and help judge the pumpkin and costume contests. They requested we add a 6th costume award. So we awarded a sheet of paper with the words Halloween 2017, Pack 23, Most Generic Costume. See if you can spot them in the pictures.
We had a Popcorn Show N Sale last weekend. It is always good to get out in the community and talk with people about Scouting and the local football game. The Scouts did a great job.
We visited the Pleasant Gap Fire Station tonight for Fire Safety Week. The Cub Scouts learned about the ambulances and fire equipment and even got to ride in both around the station. It was a loud an noisy crew tonight, but they had a lot of fun.
