We watched this house in the direct path of the tornado be torn down on Tuesday, cleared Wednesday, framed Thursday, & become a home on Friday. It has to start with one on the road to recovery. As we pull away we know that Moore is going to be OK! The people in this community truly are Stronger than the Storm! God Bless our new family as well as all of our ER family that we are returning to. A special thanks to Cheri & Jackie for putting up with us all the time, but especially for the past 7 weeks supporting us & the community in helping others, we know it has been tough on you. Lastly, I would like to thank the students of ER. This entire journey began in a classroom. The kids started immediately brainstorming ideas & ways to help pay it forward. Every grade in the East Rockaway school district was involved in this project. They would have been here to help also but they can't drive yet! We are proud & humbled to have been able to be the messengers of East Rockaway. To everyone who organized, donated, helped, followed, and supported Pay It Forward East Rockaway, take a moment to pat yourself on the back or hug someone because you truly made a difference in the lives of many, many people! Tyler, Emma, & Timmy...Daddy's coming home! 8)
While I drove with the truck in the AC to pick up a freezer for "tent city" with my new friend Bryan from Cali, Phil helped clean out a house with a bunch of high school church volunteers from Washington, Indian in the 103 degree heat. U da man Phil!
No words, NOTHING, can you prepare you for this devastation. 8(
