I was at the Marriott, Peterborough for 2 weeks. The staff were pleasant, facilities great, food was great mostly, but the rooms and bathrooms need a bit of time and money spent to bring it up to a 4 standard, minimally, removing Mould from the grout, replacing rusty screws and a bit of paint could really change the feeling of being there. This did not effect my experience, but a home away from home should make you feel a life of luxury and comfort, the rooms and bathrooms don’t give you this feeling at this time.
It will be interesting to see what it is like on my return in the coming months ...

Never stayed here before I usually stay over the road but my work colleagues were staying here. I was really looking forward to it.. I was disappointed personally it was very dated the hotel needs ...a bit of money spending on it.

The room was roasting even in November. Thetes no real aircon just a unit that blew out hot air even though I had it on the snowflake.

Staff were very pleasant but the bar staff all looked as if they'd just started. Service was a little slow and it doesn't cost anything to smile

Good choice of food at breakfast that was the highlight of my stay.

Lovely Room, stunning and comfortable bed.
But extremely disappointed with how the staff dealt with an evacuation when the fire alarm went off.
Not responsible staff on duty, just one member at the fr...ont desk and the security from the gate at the front.
No information was given.
Sent an email into the Marriot and got the most ridiculous response.
I will be contacting the local fire officer as, the staff were absolutely useless, during in the evacuation, the hotel was nearly full with a lot of elderly people who were extremely worried about this situation.
And also the following night to be left stale cake in the room as an apology I think was an insult.

I said to reception about it and all they offered was 5000 useless points to stay again when as...ked how many points does it take to stay 20000 surely she was having a laugh ? Stayed one night as it was close to a family event. We arrived early so sat and had a cuppa while we waited for our rooms to be ready. Our daughters room was ready on time but our room was very late t...o be cleaned ready for us. The staff on reception were lovely and very helpful. Room was clean (when we finally got in there).
When we arrived back at the hotel at about 22.30, the corridor our room was down smelt like rotten eggs, the all was in pur room as well. It faded so we didn't think anything of it. But I was woken early by the return of the awful smell. It seemed to be coming from the air conditioning, we turned it off and the smell went.
Breakfast was lovely and staff helpful and polite.
Mostly a good stay.

I stayed for 4 nights on a Christmas holiday tour. Room fine, well i did get some tissues and clean round the window sill inside. Tissue was filthy. staff ok. Biggest disappointment was the food. Shoc...ked that it was buffet Christmas lunch. Look warm. Lids left off food. Sometimes no gravy and sometimes no cream for sweets. Yorkshire pudding stone cold. Kept asking some on the tour to feel how bad it was. See More

Had a lovely evening at the Insurance Institute of Peterborough Annual Dinner but was served the worst plate of food I’ve ever had. It looked like it had already been digested!

Stayed for 3 nights to visit relatives and go to the antiques fair. Couldn't wish for a better location as fair within walking distance. The room dated but clean. Huge TV that are oversized for room. ...Pet hate scrimping on tea and coffee sachets in room and don't get me started on one pack of 2 biscuits between 2 people grrrrrrrr. It's the little things that make the difference! See More

Really nice room - clean, spacious etc...
Criticism - ice machine outside my room noisy all night - fan outside of window on all night.
Fire alarm went off at 1am this morning - night duty manager in... a flap didn't know what to do.
Hotel busy but not every quest left the hotel - manager didn't ensure everyone left - all we were offered in compensation was a stale cake and a letter of apology - not acceptable.
Stayed in a Marriott in Seville, knocked spots of Peterborough.

On the first day of the room where I lived, someone stole my cosmetics and a phone charger. I was at the reception a few times and promised that it explains this problem. But to no avail.

My husband and I stayed for one night as we had previously been to a Marriott hotel and we were very impressed. We were not let down this time either. Room was spotless. Reception staff very helpful. ...The restaurant was fully booked when we tried to book but we found s very good harvesters across the road. Breakfast was the best. Staff all so very helpful. Spa was a bit noisy for us as there was a few children in there and no beds left as they were saved by a family with a towel on every one. Tiles from changing room to swimming pool were extremely slippery. But this would not put us off staying again. See More

We stayed at the Marriott on Sunday night having stayed there on a previous occasion when we found the hotel to be very good.
We were given an accessible room where the double bed was pushed against t...he wall down one side, only allowing the wheel chair access to one side of the bed. The only way to get into the bed was to climb over it. The TV was broken and whilst the receptionist promised to get it fixed she failed to do so.
On arrival at the hotel we were told the restaurant was closed so the only place to get something to eat was the bar.
On the morning of our leaving I found the only way to use the shower was to hold it in my hand as the pressure of the water pushed the shower head so the water hit the opposite wall, because the shower head holder was loose.
On the plus side we had free wifi which we didn't have the last time we stayed.
Breakfast was very good.
On leaving I again pointed out the problem with the tv and informed them of the problem with the shower, the receptionist did say she was sorry to hear of the problem.
Ironically we had stayed at a Premier Inn the two previous nights where the room far out ranked the Marriott as did the quality of the bed, free wifi and customer service.

Not worth the money. No heating in the room. Bathroom a bit tired. Breakfast good. Bar meal good. But bar staff could do with a shake

Starbase 24's Annual Banquet successfully returned to the Marriot in Peterborough.
The Marriot's food delicious, unfaulted service, in my opinion a perfect venue for similar types of events. Our club ...arranged excellent discount to stay at the Marriot, looking forward to next year! See More

Last night my sister and I stopped over with my niece, for her 18th. Clifford on Reception could not have been more helpful, arranging the flower bouquet, ballons and banner in the room, these are th...e touches that set hotels apart. The pool area we found to be lovely with loungers and tables/chairs so you can really relax and enjoy the facilities. Also we would like to praise the lady on duty.. she couldn't do enough for you.. thank you! The things that we felt just needed tweeking was A) The bar menu (very little choice). B) We had requested extra pillows (never got). C) We stopped in a suite, 3 people, that should have provided robes and slippers but we only had one set (others brought up on request). Overall we would happily recommend! See More
