We're looking for recruits to come assist in this year's MLK DEBATE! The debate is held during our free period on Thursday February 15th at 11am in the Student Life Zone. Professor Brian Alnutt will be serving as our moderator. The topic of debate is historically black colleges & universities. Specifically, "Resolved: Maintaining historically black colleges & universities. (HBUCs) is no longer necessary or appropriate in the US of 2018; such institutions should now be racially integrated, merged or closed." During Spartanfest, a coin flip was executed and we chose to oppose the resolved statement regarding HBUCs. Therefore, our research should be in opposition of the statement. However, we need to research both sides of the argument in order to be as prepared as possible for any arguments our opposition may use in favor of the statement. Our first meeting to discuss our preliminary research and debate strategy will be held on Tues, January 30th, in the Student Life Zone Conference Room at 3:30. Here's our Vice-President Liam talking a bit about it
