This association addresses many issues in our neighborhood, but they are only as strong as the support they receive from the residents and businesses located in the neighborhood. Come and participate!

PVNA Meeting this Wednesday, Re SE Foster Rd TFC and SE 112th TFC
Attn PVNA Members November Meeting Notice

I guess if I could call a meeting special, adding attention, this would be a candidate!! At just about every meeting in my 19 years on the Board transportation issues have been discussed. Many individual projects and locations have been addressed and it doesn’t take long to realize they are all interconnected.

...

Well here is a great opportunity to grapple with our mini-regional transportation challenges and objectives. Although it is impossible to narrow the focus on every problem area, we will be addressing three very substantial topics.

The 112th corridor from Mt Scott to Foster, the Foster Corridor from 136ish to Barbara Welsh, and the infamous 172nd/Foster intersection are up for discussion at this meeting.

We will be joined by Daniel Soebbing, key member of the transportation planning team at PBOT.

We will not be announcing plans or solutions at our meetings. On the 112th and Foster Corridor issues we will be looking for a path forward and help guiding our future efforts in the most effective way. And on the 172nd and Foster intersection, this is being addressed by a new joint jurisdiction that Mr. Soebbing is a participant.

It should be a valuable and results oriented meeting and I hope to see you there.

Please join us on November 15, 7pm at the Grange, 17115 SE Foster Rd (at SE 172nd).

Paul

2017 Hidden Gems Recognition, Pleasant Valley Parks

May 17 will mark the 4th Annual Hidden Gems Presentation for the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood Association. ...Hidden Gems is a way for us to bring focus on the unique and valuable asets present in the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood. We have identified our parks and our Portland Parks Bureau for recognition in 2017.

We have literally hundreds of acres of parks land within our boundaries. We have activity parks, intended for active use including play equipment, sports games, picnics and like activities. We also have nature areas intended for both land preservation as well as hiking and enjoying the outdoors,

What we don’t have is complete knowledge about these valuable assets. We doubt many of us know that much about our parks, their history, condition or, most importantly, plans for the future.

Now is your opportunity to learn all that and more at our Hidden Gems Presentation. We will have leaders from the Portland Parks Bureau who focus their daily efforts on both activity parks and nature areas. We invite you to learn of the past and present and contribute to the future of parks in Pleasant Valley.

It is no secret that Outer SE Portland, and Pleasant Valley specifically has not benefited from parks to the same degree as the majority of Portland. This meeting can be the first major step in providing a remedy to this situation.
