Cell edge length control is the subject of today's Tutorial Tuesday video.
- *sigh* End of an era - I finally uninstalled Gridgen. Been using it... since Version 8.6 (?) back in my grad school days circa '93-'95. Time for this old dog to learn new tricks. Keep up the great work! عرض المزيد

Pointwise is heavily involved in planning and preparation for two AIAA workshops coming this summer held the weekend before AIAA Aviation in Denver. We are generating families of meshes to be provided to participants in the 3rd CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop. And we are helping organize the 1st Geometry and Mesh Generation Workshop. Yesterday's Tutorial Tuesday video continued our focus on the T-Rex hybrid meshing technique with a look at the algorithm's various smoothing parameters.
We visited Branch Technology, winners of the Meshy Award 2016, to see how they're 3-D printing meshes at architectural scale.
Learn how to keep your extruded tetrahedra from being too skewed in today's Tutorial Tuesday video.

Students at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden investigated the performance of a pick-and-place machine using CFD. Pointwise was used to perform a grid refinement study for a static simulation where the nozzle of the machine as well as the distance to the component varied. Additionally, an overset mesh was generated for a 1-DOF dynamic simulation. Read more: http://ptwi.se/2oa6ss8
More talking T-Rex on Tutorial Tuesday, this time about taking it to the next level with some advanced settings.
Into the weekend we go with CFD, Meshing, and More - This Week in CFD https://blog.pointwise.com/2017/03/31/this-week-in-cfd-274/
Abstracts are due TOMORROW for the 1st AIAA Geometry and Mesh Generation workshop, to be held in conjunction with the 3rd AIAA CFD High Lift Prediction Workshop the weekend prior to AIAA Aviation this June in Denver.
Our award-winning mesh poster is now available for download in the form of a desktop wallpaper!
Pointwise won the Meshing Maestro Contest at the 25th International Meshing Roundtable, which took place in Washington, DC in September 2016. Our team was tasked with meshing two sample geometries: a computer cooling fan and the White House. Taking inspiration from the movie Independence Day, our team combined the two meshes into a single theme, transforming the cooling fan into an alien spaceship looming over the White House. It is a fun way to combine two seemingly unrelated objects into a common theme that we hope you will enjoy.

Aerospike rocket nozzles offer increased efficiency over a wider operating pressure range than traditional nozzles. In this study, we compare CFD and experimental predictions of aerospike nozzle thrust for varying pressure ratios and base bleed rates.
