Had a proud #American moment tonight. Woke up in my hotel hearing a lot of noise outside in the lobby. I went out and found this. The Kentucky State Choir Final...s schools are all staying at my hotel. They decided to sing the National Anthem together on every single floor. #Amazing

Praying for the swift recovery of the FOUR York County (South Carolina) Deputy Sheriffs and Police Officers who were shot Monday night responding to a domestic violence. York County Sheriff's Office York Police Department
A POLICE OFFICER'S CHRISTMAS
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the streets,
not a person was stirring, 'cept an officer on the beat.
As he quietly patrolled the town with great care,...
children and parents slept peacefully there.
The officer was clad in his blues and his vest,
gun on his hip, always looking his best.
He'd just pulled aside for a quick bite to eat,
When all of a sudden, out on the street,
A bright light appeared from out of nowhere,
He shielded his eyes from the brilliant glare.
'Twas an angel of the Lord at the squad's rear,
He smiled and spoke, "Dear Officer, don't fear."
"I've been sent by God with a message for you
who faithfully serve while wearing the blue.
He wants you to know He loves you all,
He's pleased with the way you've answered His call.
"To protect and serve others, so selfless you've been,
Your bravery and kindness have known no end.
Even in tragedy, when nights became long,
You've helped countless strangers by being strong.
"God sees your heart, the joy and the pain,
He knows the profession can often bring strain.
So he sent me here to let you know,
That as you patrol, He goes where you go.
"As you protect others, your Father protects you,
His angels go with you, His Spirit does, too.
No bullet too fast, no bad guy too strong,
I'm sent to make sure that your life will be long.
"So fear not the night, and fear not the day,
fear not the threats that might come your way.
I'm sent to accompany you on your beat,
There's not one moment you're alone on the street."
The officer sat stunned by the love of His God,
He bowed his head, with a tear gave a nod.
As the officer said thank you, the angel took flight,
"God's got your back, carry on, and goodnight."
WATCH LIVE: DPS Trooper Damon Allen's funeral services are underway. The funeral is being held at the Mexia High School Stadium. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery near Teague.
While everyone is celebrating and shopping, there is a family grieving because their trooper never made it home for Thanksgiving.
I stayed up last night listening to the live scanner until they caught the suspect. It sounded like K9 got him in the brush where he was hiding like a coward. Then I heard them request an ambulance. My anger didn't even want that ambulance to head that way for this guy. I know I shouldn't have felt this way, but I did.
His partners ended up cu...ffing him with Trooper Damon Allen's cuffs. I can only imagine it would take everything in them not to want to kill the guy that killed their friend. Can you even imagine? This is what I think about when I see my husbands cuffs today.
Gosh, my heart is heavy and hurting today for this family and my blue family too. 🖤🖤💙💙🖤🖤
I am thankful no other officers/K9 were hurt during this situation.
"Trooper Damon Allen was shot and killed while making a traffic stop on I-45 in Freestone County, just south of Fairfield, at approximately 4:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day.
He had contacted the driver and was returning to his patrol car when the man exited his car and opened fire with a rifle. Trooper Allen was killed at the scene.
The man was located in Waller County several hours later and taken into custody after exchanging shots with officers.
Trooper Allen had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for 15 years. He is survived by his wife and three children."
