Is failure okay? Popular rhetoric may lead us to believe so. But maybe that is not the case. This article is a reflection on failure as a part of the 'Yin & Yang of success and failure theme' for this month.

Raise your hand if you like to fail. No? That is the first thing we need to get a reality check on. Failure sucks. No sane person likes it. If we can

SUCCESS and FAILURE are topics very close to our hearts. One we LOVE, the other we ABHOR. Some say, "nothing succeeds like success"; others say, "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation."

Irrespective of what the quotes say - what do YOU think? Like really?

If you could choose between success and failure, would you choose failure no matter how great a teacher it is?

...

What is success anyway?

Some say, "Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value."

Are "success" and "values" ANTAGONISTIC? Is it REALLY possible for a person of sound values to build a successful business or rise in a corporate career?

We want to reflect on how people feel, think, experience success and failure in real life.

Stay tuned. We are going to write on this topic all of November.

One of the very interesting stories of Mahabharata. It is intriguing to see how decision making in corporate, sometime akin to beheading someone (i.e layoff, terminations) happens with such malice. "I will spoil his career", "I will teach him a lesson"... or vice-versa - returning of "favors and friendships". Does it matter? Our state of mind, when we take a decision? We think it does. It effects the quality of decision making. Not just the WHAT decision, but HOW the decision is executed. So what is that one quality we must start observing in future leaders/decision-makers?

This is a story from the world's longest Epic Mahabharata. We must revisit the story briefly, even if we have heard of it, before discussing decision

How do you take one business idea and inter-twine it a story from a completely different world?

What do you expect in a typical "online course"? Some course material, few assignments, some feedback, some certificate in the end?

Well, we did not launch this course because we had any interest in the lure of online-learning-is-convenient.

Nope.

...

We have no interest in just creating some course material and pushing it out to more and more learners, with no or low involvement, in the name of " online self-paced learning".

We have created this program to work personally with writers to help them discover the writers in them - strengths, what they can experiment with, what more they can build.

We do it, because many of our learners are taking up writing as a second careers.

Second career.

Now that is different from the first careers we choose, when we did not know what was OUT there. We did not know ourselves well. We went by what some cousin, senior, parent, uncle, aunt told us.

Second careers have to be different.

You have to dig deep, within - to see what is IN there.

We, during the course, go the distance with you.

Yes, it is online. But only so that writers from different parts of the world can reach us.

Sabbaticals are wonderful. And they are gradually gaining more acceptance. Sabbatical until sometime ago, was seen as a "break"; viewed suspiciously, and unfavorably.

Suspiciously, for women who took a break NOT because they had to go on a maternity leave. Or MEN. Prospective employers wonder why did you took a break... "is there something fishy".

Unfavorably, for women who took a break because their little child needed them for a few years. Prospective employers see you as ...being "out of touch" with industry.

But sabbaticals, taken for any reason, are wonderful opportunities to rewire ones mind, reconnect with oneself, gain new perspectives. You can travel, read, restart your hobbies, think afresh about your life.

It is also a very good time to learn a new skill.

Something that will keep you sharp, add to your employability, keep you relevant.

Business writing is one such skill. You can use it to become a thought leader at a regular job, or build a new career as a writer.

We have designed our program keeping these factors in mind.

We find out what is unique to you as a writer and groom it.

We also tell you what more you can and should focus on.

Our program is personalized, relevant and futuristic.

Business writing has a few unique needs.

FIRSTLY, since business writing caters to a specific audience - customers, employees and other stakeholders - the writing has to be TRUE TO CONTEXT.

It has to include domain-specific understanding, the contextual challenges, beliefs, aspirations of stakeholders in that industry.

...

This is where many CONTENT WRITERS struggle, who may have the writing skills, but lack the contextual business understanding.

SECONDLY, business writing needs to begin with "spotting" the right "story angle" and then building it with elements of a great story - the promise, the anticipation, the wonder, the conflict..

This is where many DOMAIN EXPERTS struggle, who may have the domain knowledge, but lack the creative touch of the medium.

It is the COMBINATION of the two that the industry VALUES.

GhostWritersWorld seeks to offer this combination in our High Impact Writing services.

We also seek to build more writers with this mettle, whom the industry needs, through our writing programs.

If you aspire to be a writer, we will lay a strong foundation to your career in writing.

Online content platforms are on a boom and they approach many writers for content. But do they pay?

Hardly.

While content platforms monetize the traffic they generate basis your writing, they DO NOT pay writers. The only lure is "visibility".

...

Building a full-time career in writing means you need to get paid.

Paid well, and consistently.

There are content companies that work with a pool of "freelance writers", but often pay pittance per word.

Sometimes a Dominos regular pizza fetches more money than a 500-word article! It is a shame.

But does it mean writers do not or cannot make money?

NOT AT ALL.

There are are writers who are able to charge a premium fee for their writing - because they have demonstrated the ability to deliver that kind of value.

There are MANY writers, but only FEW good writers.

GhostWritersWorld comes with the mandate of providing that kind of High Impact Writing services, and also helping more and more writers to develop their writing mettle which companies will be happy to pay for.

Know more about our "Writing for Career" course, which has been designed with intention of laying a strong foundation to becoming a writer like that.
