An Open Appeal to the Members of The Democratic State Committee. It is with displeasure and pain, that I write this letter.
Your Committee will be face with the sad task to fill the seat of State Dele...gate Tiffany Alston, who has been a visible and responsive voice for the older historic African American Communities referred to as The Greater Fairmount Heights Communities of Chapel Oaks, Jefferson Heights, Cedar Heights , Deanwood Park and The Historic Town of Fairmount Heights.
In selecting the replacement for the State Delegate seat, I am appealing to you to consider geological balance to appointment a replacement.
Presently the remaining two Delegates from the 24th District are from outsie the older historic communities in the 24th District.
The Mayor of Seat Plesant recently broke ground, for a Multi Million Dollar Municpal Complex, which will be L.E.E.D. Certified construction, and both the Mayor and Councils of Capital Heights and Fairmount Heights are planning on reducing foreclosed homes and uplifing their communities.
These Municipal Officals and Community leaders in the older unincorporated communities near these Towns will need a strong visible advocate in Annapolis to join the 24th District Delegation.

Therefore I am appealing to the members of your Committee to consider nominating the three term Mayor of Fairmount Heights, lLillie Thompson Martin ,a longtime Democratic Party Activist and Educator.and lifelong native of Fairmount Heights, Md. While she has not announce whether she would accept the appointment, I believe she would bring experience and skills as an advocate for the older aging communities of the 24th District, which presently lacks a representative in the 24th Delegation.

My second choice, if Mayor Thompson Martin declines to accept your nomination, I believe Community Activist, Greg Hall of Chapel Oaks, would also be an strong advocate for the older communties of Greater Fairmount Heights, and the Municipalities of Seat Plesant and Capital Heights.

Once Again, I a sorry that the Committee, has to make this decision, but the State Law instructs your committee to send a nominee to the Governor, for his approval.

Good Luck, and Let us thank Delegate Tiffany Alston for her service to the people of Maryland, and pray for her and her family.
